Jean-Paul Gaultier is a French fashion designer, film costume designer and musician. Jean Paul Gaultier began his career in fashion design by sending small sketches to various designers. Pierre Cardin soon admired his talent and hired him as an assistant in 1970. Not much later, in 1976, Jean Paul Gaultier presented his first collection to the world. The irreverent and untamed character of the artist pinned him the label of the "enfant terrible" of the French fashion world. Thanks to his extravagance and unusual approach to fashion (his catwalk shows were dominated by fluffy ladies and tattooed men), he gained international fame.
