Calcinated soda - the power of purity known since antiquity

The history of soda dates back to 3500 BC, when the ancient Egyptians used its natural properties. The Natron mineral, which is a natural source of sodium carbonate (calcined sodium), was used by them to mummify corpses and as an effective cleaning agent. Today, after millennia, its versatility is still appreciated in many industries, and you can use its power in your home.

⭐ in the household: calcined soda strongly degreases and removes difficult dirt (fat, burns, boiler stone, coffee from cups, grilled tar). Clears drains – dissolves grease and soap deposits. Softens water, strengthens the effect of washing powder, whitens and removes stains. Do not use for cleaning aluminum and decorative glass (draws).

⭐ in washing and cleaning: added to laundry (1 to 2 tablespoons for washing) replaces bleach and rinsing liquid (softens water). Used for cleaning floors, tiles, drains, ovens, hoods and pots gives a better effect than baking soda. Note: it works corrosively - use gloves!

⭐ in the garden: effectively removes moss, algae and lichens from paving stones, terraces, paths and facades. Used as spraying on aphids and fungi (solution approx. 0,5% – 5 g/l of water). Increases the pH of acidic soil (deacidifies the soil). Cleans garden tools from plant debris and grease.

⭐ pozostałe applications: production of glass, detergents, cleaning agents; pH adjustment in swimming pools; cleaning of difficult dirt in the workshop and garage (oils, lubricants).

⭐Homemade dishwasher

Mix together 1 cup of soda ash, 1 cup of borax and ½ cups of citric acid. Store the mixture in a dry, tightly closed container. Use 1 tablespoon per wash cycle. For better effect, pour vinegar into a rinse aid container. Note: When using, use protective gloves and keep the product out of reach of children. All the ingredients you need are available at our other auctions.

🔴 NOTE: is not suitable for food purposes - unlike baking soda, soda ash is corrosive and cannot be used as baking powder, for meat, vegetables or beverages.

⭐ In addition, baking soda is used between inny:

• for strong degreasing and cleaning of pots, ovens, hoods and hobs,
• for clearing drains - dissolves grease and soap deposits,
• for washing - strengthens the effect of powder, softens water, whitens fabrics,
• for cleaning floors, tiles and grout – removes greasy dirt,
• for cleaning garden and workshop tools from oils and lubricants,
• for removing moss and algae from paving stones, terraces and facades,
• to regulate pH in swimming pools and ponds,
• for the production of household detergents and dishwasher powders.

Note: Sodium calcined is a corrosive substance. Use protective gloves.

Here are examples of uses of baking soda:

🔹 Cleaning of kitchen surfaces

Soda ash perfectly removes grease, burns and deposits from ovens, cookers, pots or pans. To prepare the cleaning paste, mix 1-2 tablespoons of soda ash with a little hot water so that a thick mass is formed. Apply to dirt, leave for a few minutes and wipe with a sponge.

🔹 Removal of stains from fabrics

It helps in removing stains from fat, sweat, tea or coffee. Prepare the mixture: 1/4 cup soda ash + 20 ml hydrogen peroxide (approx. 2 tablespoons). Apply to the stain for 10-15 minutes, then wash as usual.

🔹 Cleaning the bathroom

It deals with stone, soap deposits and dirt on tiles, grout and ceramics. For paste, use a proportion of 2 tablespoons of soda + a little water. For solution: 2 tablespoons of soda per 1 liter of warm water - ideal for spraying larger areas.

🔹 Clearing and refreshing drains

Neutralizes odors and helps dissolve grease and deposits. Pour 2-4 tablespoons of soda ash into the drain and pour 0,5-1 liters of hot water. For a stronger effect, you can add half a glass of vinegar - the foaming reaction helps to break down impurities.

🔹 Washing and whitening

Softens water, strengthens the effect of detergent and helps lighten white fabrics. Add 1-2 tablespoons of soda ash directly to the drum or detergent. For soaking: 2 tablespoons of soda per 5 liters of warm water.

🔹 Cleaning of silver and metals

Put aluminum foil in a bowl, pour 2 tablespoons of soda, pour 1 liter of hot water and dip the items for a few minutes. The raid will disappear due to an electrochemical reaction.

🔹 Washing garden furniture, paving stones and terraces

Dissolve 3 to 4 tablespoons of soda in 1 liter of warm water and wash the surface with a brush. For strong dirt you can make a paste (soda + a little water).

🔹 Degreasing the surface before painting

Prepare the solution: 2 tablespoons of soda per 1 liter of warm water. Wash the surface, rinse and let it dry - the paint will adhere better.

🔹 Cleaning fireplaces and grills

On burns and soot, apply a paste of 2-3 tablespoons of soda and a small amount of water. Leave for a few minutes, then scrub.

🔹 Dyeing of fabrics (tie‑dye)

To raise the pH and improve dye binding, dissolve 1 cup of soda ash in 4 liters of warm water. Soak the fabric 15-20 minutes before dyeing.

🔸 Warnings

• Soda ash is strongly alkaline and can irritate the skin and eyes - use gloves.
• Do not inhale dust, pour slowly and carefully.
• Do not mix with strong acids in closed containers (violent reaction).
• Avoid use on aluminum, varnished surfaces and delicate materials - first make a test.
• Store in a dry place, away from children and animals.
