The main opinion of hollow drills is cutting spigots in hard or soft wood. These tools consist of a working part, i.e. a drill head, a body resembling a frame and a cylindrical grip. The head has the shape of a narrow, open on both sides perfectly round tube and for this reason resembles drill crowns.

The number of blades depends on the diameter of the drill and is directly proportional to the size of this parameter. The head is fixed in a strong body with a shape resembling a frame. The framed shape is due to the fact that the body must accommodate the spigot cut by the head.
