From a scientific point of view, PEA is a lipid-derived compound produced by our body, capable of interacting with endocannabinoid receptors that modulate analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

To make Vitaminity PEA Pain-Killer more effective, another active substance was added to its formula: alpha-lipoic acid. It is a fat produced by our body, capable of interacting with endocannabinoid receptors that modulate analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. The mechanism of its operation was discovered by Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi Montalcini. In nature, it occurs in soy lecithin, milk, egg yolk and peanuts.

In particular, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of PEA occur through modulation of the release of TNF alpha, IL 6-8 and other inflammatory cytokines from mast cells present in the lungs, intestines and dermis. Numerous clinical studies confirm its usefulness in inflammation of the respiratory tract, joints and peripheral neuropathy.

In addition, PEA is considered a nuclear activator of the PPAR-alpha receptor (a receptor activated by peroxisome proliferators), which is a potent regulator of fat metabolism in the liver. PPAR-alpha is activated in conditions of lack of energy supply, such as fasting and ketosis. Activation of PPAR-alpha induces fat catabolism and promotes mitochondrial oxidation.

The effective dosage is 300 mg twice a day. Following administration, plasma PEA levels remain elevated for more than 4 hours.

PEA has no side effects up to a dose of 1200 mg per day.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant coenzyme that participates in important cellular energy production reactions. In particular, it is involved in the conversion of sugars into fats, producing energy. It also has a strong antioxidant effect, thanks to its ability to produce glutathione. In addition, it has the ability to penetrate neurons, protecting them from degradation due to its lipophilic structure.

Lipoic acid is also known for its ability to optimize neural communication, improve sensitization, and thus improve both pain and sensory numbness.

Alpha-lipoic acid is therefore used according to extensive scientific documentation in neuropathic pain, but also in cataracts, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. Its administration has proven effective in many pathologies as neuroprotective.

In addition, alpha-lipoic acid is used in the prevention and treatment of diabetes. This is because it is able to prevent the destruction of pancreatic beta cells secreting insulin, reduce insulin resistance and protein glycation (the reaction between protein and sugar that affects the proper functioning of the biomolecule).

For diabetic neuropathy, experimental studies with intravenous administration first followed by oral ac. Alpha-lipoic acid showed significant improvements in pain, drowsiness, paraesthesia, and peripheral nerve conduction.

Devil's Claw - Harpagophytum procumbens (Burch. ) DC. Radix titrated at 2,5% in harpagosides

Belonging to the Pedaliaceae family, the devil's claw is a perennial herbaceous plant native to southern and eastern Africa. Its dried roots are used to prepare herbal and phytotherapeutic preparations. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, it is used in the treatment of rheumatic pains.

The analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects are due to the presence of glycosides, the most important of which are harpagosides contained in the root of the plant.

Devil's claw has been shown to be particularly active, especially in situations that cause pain and inflammation without serious joint damage, such as tendonitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, headache caused by osteoarthritis, neck pain, general neck pain, bruising, sciatica, arthritis, osteoarthritis.

Vitamin B6

It has been found that vitamin B6, like vitamin B3, is a factor capable of fighting pellagra. It comes in three different forms (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, pyridoxamine), and the active form is pyridoxal phosphate, into which all forms are converted by the enzyme pyridoxal kinase present in all tissues. It is pyridoxal phosphate and coenzyme-analogous pyridoxamine phosphate that are active in fat and protein metabolism in transamination processes.

At the level of the central nervous system, vitamin B6 is essential for the production of serotonin, dopamine, histamine, taurine, gamma-aminobutyric acid. In addition, it is involved in the synthesis of hemoglobin and is a steroid modulator that promotes the synthesis of growth hormone (GH). It is also important for glycogen production.

Dosage:
