Omega 3 Dr. Ewa Dąbrowska is a dietary supplement based on Antarctic krill oil. It is a small crustacean, looking like shrimp. It inhabits the cold and clean waters of Antarctica, being a source of highly absorbable EPA and DHA acids, phospholipids, choline and astaxanthin. These ingredients have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties, supporting the functioning of the brain, heart and circulatory system, liver and vision. It is important that Krill inhabits pristine areas and feeds on health-promoting algae. As a result, the oil from it is free of any impurities or heavy metals. In addition, Krill oil thanks to its phospholipid structure is better absorbed by the body, compared to Omega 3 acid obtained from fish oil.

Ingredients of Omega 3 supplement from Antarctic krill oil and their properties:

✅ Omega 3 acids (EPA/DHA)

They have anti-inflammatory effects, which have a positive effect, among others. for vision, brain function and nervous system and circulation. They are a component of cell membranes and are involved in the synthesis of hormones. Inhibition of inflammatory processes in the body also reduces the risk of diseases of the osteoarticular system, circulation or malignant tumors. It is worth remembering that an important factor in the formation of cancer is oxidative stress, i.e. the accumulation of free oxygen radicals, leading to the formation of chronic inflammation.

Meanwhile, Omega 3 acids increase the production of glutathione, an antioxidant naturally occurring in the body, produced by the liver and nerve cells. As a result, the consumption of Omega 3 acids prevents oxidative damage to cells. These acids also normalize blood pressure and cholesterol levels. They facilitate the absorption of calcium into bone tissue, increasing bone strength. They are important for the proper functioning of the brain, which reduces the risk of developing depression, as well as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Among the polyunsaturated Omega fatty acids, Omega 3, 6 and 9 can be distinguished. Each of them is necessary for the body and performs a number of important functions. However, the proportion of the intake of these acids is extremely important. It is believed that the ratio of Omega 3 to 6 acids (which have a pro-inflammatory effect) should be in the range from 1:1 (referred to as the so-called. “golden ratio”) to 1:5-6. Meanwhile, the ratio of 3 to 6 acids in the diet of the average Pole is even 1:12-1:20. So we consume too many Omega 6 acids, so it is worth equalizing this disproportion by providing additional Omega 3 acids to your diet in the form of e.g. supplement. The correct ratio of both acids translates into overall health.

✅ Phospholipids

They are the basic building blocks of cell membranes. They are involved in cell renewal and regeneration processes, as well as in the functioning of receptors, m.in. hormones, cytokines or immune cells.
