Niacinamide by NOW Foods contains as much as 500 mg of vitamin B-3, which is essential for maintaining good physical and mental health. Vitamin B-3 in the form of niacinamide is a derivative of niacin. However, unlike it, it does not cause a “flush” effect, i.e. harmless redness of the skin, which may occur at the beginning of using high doses of niacin. Niacinamide is readily converted into bioactive forms: NAD+, NADH, NADP and NADPH, which are key cofactors in cellular energy production. They also maintain DNA stability.
Vitamin B-3 regulates triglycerides and cholesterol levels. It lowers the level of “bad cholesterol” LDL, while stimulating the production of “good” HDL.
