Carnosine is a multifunctional dipeptide composed of beta-alanine and L-histidine amino acids. It is also a naturally occurring antioxidant and a powerful glycation inhibitor.

Carnosine is present both in food and in the human body. Long-lived cells such as nerve cells (neurons) and muscle cells (myocytes) contain high levels of carnosine. Unfortunately, with age, carnosine levels decrease, which makes supplementation an essential part of the whole body health program.

Protects against glycation

Carnosine is a unique dipeptide that can inhibit the glycation process, [1-7] the essential mechanism of aging causing protein damage in the body.
