Ingredients in Enzyme complex PRO:
DigeZyme® is an innovative, multi-enzyme complex. It consists of GMO-free enzymes with a broad spectrum of action, including amylase, protease, and lipase, obtained through fermentation of Aspergillus oryzae. These enzymes break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and all three are resistant to stomach acids, maintaining their digestive activity. The DigeZyme preparation has also undergone clinical evaluation for increased absorption of minerals and vitamins.
LactoWise® is a probiotic-prebiotic complex called a synbiotic. The Bacillus coagulans viable spore bacteria it contains can be stored at room temperature. Galactomannan is a prebiotic fiber. It is a fraction of soluble fiber derived from dietary fiber from fenugreek seeds.
FibgerumTM
- is an excellent source of soluble fiber
- has high digestive tolerance
- has clinically proven prebiotic properties
- guarantees a minimum of 90% soluble fiber per dry mass
- is not digested, with a high molecular weight polysaccharide purified using only physical methods, i.e., without chemical or enzymatic treatment.
- proven bifidogenic effect
- stimulates the production of short-chain fatty acids
- high intestinal tolerance up to 50g/day
- low calorie content
About digestive enzymes:
Digestive enzymes are a group of enzymes secreted in the digestive system, mostly hydrolases (hydrolytic enzymes), which catalyze the breakdown of more complex compounds into simpler ones (with the participation of water). In all heterotrophs (organisms that feed on others), digestion processes proceed similarly and involve the same or very similar groups of enzymes produced by specialized digestive glands. Enzymes participate in practically every process occurring in our body.
The three basic nutrients in food, i.e., carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, are absorbed by the human body only after being broken down into smaller digestible molecules. The digestion process begins in the mouth, where salivary amylases injected with saliva begin to break down complex sugars, such as plant starch, into smaller molecules. Then, food is transferred to the stomach, where it is subjected to enzymatic processing by a protein-digesting enzyme called pepsin, which is secreted by specialized stomach cells called chief cells. Then, due to the peristaltic movements of the digestive tract, the stomach contents are transported to the small intestine. There, pancreatic juice, along with bile secreted from the liver via the gallbladder, facilitates further digestion of sugars, proteins, and importantly, dietary fats. Appropriate enzymes, i.e., pancreatic amylase, carboxypeptidase, and lipases, are supplied with the pancreatic juice. Pancreatic lipase hydrolyzes fats into free fatty acids, which, under the influence of bile salts, transform into micelles, i.e., a form of dietary fats that is absorbed by the cells of the digestive tract.
EFFECT OF FOOD ENZYMES ON THE BODY'S CONDITION
Although the work of the digestive system cannot be seen, the amount of digestive juices and enzymes produced is impressive. For example, the average daily production of saliva is from 1 to 1.2 liters. This is exactly how much saliva is needed each day to initiate the digestion process. The amount of digestive juices and fluids produced by the digestive system to support the entire process is equally impressive.
What is Digezyme?
Digezyme® is a multi-enzyme complex mix containing the following enzymes:
- amylase (an enzyme that hydrolyzes starch)
- protease (an enzyme that hydrolyzes protein)
- lipase (an enzyme that hydrolyzes fat)
- cellulase (which hydrolyzes cellulose)
- lactase (which hydrolyzes lactose)
The activity of each enzyme in Digezyme® is as follows:
1. Amylase (carbohydrase): breaks down carbohydrates such as starch, glycogen, and polysaccharides into smaller units.
2. Cellulase: breaks down cellulose and chitin; helps release nutrients from both fruits and vegetables.
3. Lipase: breaks down lipids and improves fat utilization.
4. Protease: breaks down protein.
5. Lactase: breaks down lactose (milk sugar).
Source of enzymes in Digezyme®:
Alpha-amylase (Aspergillus oryzae) - from fungi
Lactase (Aspergillus oryzae) - from fungi
Lipase (Aspergillus oryzae) - from fungi
Cellulase (Trichoderma reesei) - from fungi
Neutral protease (Bacillus licheniformis) – bacteria
DigeZyme® is mentioned by Anthony J. Chichokew in his book “The Complete Book of Enzyme Therapy” (Ref. 1). The DigeZyme preparation has also undergone clinical evaluation for increased absorption of minerals and vitamins.
None of the enzymes used in Enzyme Complex are derived from animals
