Creatine is an organic acid found in vertebrates that contains nitrogen atoms. About 95% of creatine is stored in skeletal muscle. Creatine helps in providing energy to cells, mainly muscle cells, constituting m.in. substrate for the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) acting as an energy storage facility m.in. for muscle cells.
