Powerful 10 Gbps solution for all long-range networks

The PLANET XGS-6350-12X8TR is a managed Layer 3 Gigabit switch that delivers high-performance Layer 3 features with 10-gigabit routing thanks to 12 SFP+ fiber-based interfaces and 8 Gigabit interfaces housed in a rugged chassis. The administrator can flexibly select the appropriate SFP/SFP+ transceiver depending on the transmission distance or required bitrate to effectively expand the 10G network. In addition, thanks to its 176-gigabit switching structure, the XGS-6350-12X8TR can handle huge amounts of data in a secure topology connecting to a headquarters or high-bandwidth servers in enterprises, data centers, campuses, etc., where VoIP applications, video transfer and multicast transmission are used.

Dual AC power supply with redundancy for continuous operation

The XGS-6350-12X8TR is equipped with two 100~240V AC power units for redundant power installation. A redundant power system is also available to increase reliability with dual AC power units. Layer 3 routing support

The XGS-6350-12X8TR enables an administrator to conveniently increase network efficiency by manually configuring Layer 3 static routing, automatic RIP (Routing Information Protocol) or OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) settings. RIP can use the number of spikes as routing metrics and prevent routing loops by limiting the number of spikes allowed in the path from source to destination. OSPF is an internal dynamic routing protocol for autonomous systems based on link states. The protocol creates a link state database by exchanging link states between Layer 3 switches, and then uses the Shortest Path First algorithm to generate a routing table based on that database.

High efficiency

The XGS-6350-12X8TR features a high-performance switch architecture capable of delivering near-blocking switch flow and wired bandwidth of up to 132 Gbps, greatly simplifying LAN upgrade tasks to meet growing bandwidth requirements.

Rich support for IPv6

The XGS-6350-12X8TR provides IPv6 management and advanced enterprise-level security features such as SSH, ACL, WRR (Weighted Round Robin) and RADIUS authentication. The XGS-6350-12X8TR helps enterprises enter the IPv6 era at the lowest cost. In addition, there is no need to replace the network infrastructure when IPv6 FTTx edge networks are built.

The XGS-6350-12X8TR is equipped with powerful traffic management tools and WRR features that enhance the quality of services offered by telecommunications companies and enterprises. WRR features include Layer 4 traffic classifiers with wired bandwidth and bandwidth constraints, which are particularly useful for multitenant, multi-business, telecommunications or network services applications.

Powerful security

Supported ACL policies can classify traffic by source/destination IP addresses, source/destination MAC addresses, IP protocols, TCP/UDP, IP priorities, time intervals, and ToS. In addition, different policies can be used to forward traffic. The XGS-6350-12X8TR also offers IEEE 802.1x port-based access authorization, which can be deployed using RADIUS to ensure port-level security and block unauthorized users. Advanced Layer 2 features

The XGS-6350-12X8TR can be programmed for basic switch management functions such as port speed configuration, port aggregation, VLAN, spanning tree protocol, WRR, bandwidth control and IGMP snooping. It also supports 802.1Q marked VLAN, Q-in-Q, voice VLAN and GVRP protocol. In addition, the number of VLAN interfaces is 1K, and the number of VLAN IDs is 4K. With support for port aggregation, the XGS-6350-12X8TR enables high-throughput operation by connecting multiple ports. Supports up to 32 groups for aggregation with up to 8 ports in each group.

For efficient management, the XGS-6350-12X8TR is equipped with console, network and SNMP management interfaces. With its built-in network-based management interface, the XGS-6350-12X8TR offers an easy-to-use, platform-independent management and configuration interface. The XGS-6350-12X8TR supports the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and can be managed using any standard-compliant management software. To reduce learning time, the XGS-6350-12X8TR offers Cisco-style commands via Telnet or console port. In addition, the XGS-6350-12X8TR offers secure remote management by supporting an SSH connection that encrypts package content in each session.

Flexible and extensible solution

The XGS-6350-12X8TR provides eight Ethernet ports with a speed of 100/1000 Mbps and twelve SFP+ fiber ports with a speed of 1/10 Gbps. Each of the SFP+ slots supports dual speed, 10GBASE-SR/LR or 1000BASE-SX/LX. Therefore, the administrator can flexibly select the appropriate SFP transceiver, taking into account both the transmission distance and the required transmission speed. The distance can be extended from 550 meters to 2 km (multimode fiber) or even to 10/20/30/40/50/70/120 km (singlemode fiber or WDM fiber). They are ideally suited for enterprise data center and distribution applications.
