The PLANET GS-5220-24T4XV and GS-5220-24T4XVR Layer 2+ Managed Gigabit Switches with LCD Touchscreen support both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and Layer 3 hardware static routing, and provide 24 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps ports and 4 10Gigabit SFP+ uplink slots. The GS-5220-24T4XV series can handle very large amounts of data in a secure topology connecting to the service provider's data center/framework network or high-capacity servers. They can work with a 10Gbps SFP+ server adapter to help small and medium-sized businesses build a 10Gbps Ethernet network that provides 10Gbps NAS (Network Attached Storage) or intensive transmission of video streaming services at an affordable price.

Cybersecurity networking solution to minimize security risks

The new generation of GS-5220-24T4XV switches has a cybersecurity feature that protects switch management and increases mission-critical network security without the additional cost and effort of deployment. The GS-5220-24T4XV expands memory and updates the SSH and SSL protocol kernel to provide strong protection against advanced threats. It includes a number of cybersecurity features such as DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard, ARP Inspection Protection, 802.1x port and Mac-based network access control, RADIUS and TACACS+ user account management, SNMPv3 authentication and so on to complement it as a complete security solution. A network administrator can now build highly secure enterprise networks with much less time and effort than before.

The GS-5220-24T4XVR supports redundant ring technology and has a strong, fast self-healing capability to prevent interruptions and external intrusions. It includes advanced ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) technology, 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) and dual power system in customer industrial automation network to increase system reliability and working time in harsh factory conditions. In some simple ring networks, the data link restore time can be as long as 20 ms.

10G Ethernet is a big leap in the evolution of Ethernet. The four 10G SFP+ slots in the GS-5220 series support dual speeds of 10GBASE-SR/LR or 1000BASE-SX/LX, which means that an administrator can now flexibly select the appropriate SFP/SFP+ transceiver depending on the transmission distance or transmission speed required for efficient network expansion. Solid Layer 2 features

The GS-5220 series can be programmed for advanced switch management features such as dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), Layer 2/4 QoS, bandwidth control and IGMP/MLD snooping. The GS-5220 series allows you to handle high-speed trunking connecting multiple ports. It consists of up to 9 trunk groups with 2 ports for each group and also supports call failover.

Very good security

The GS-5220 series offers a comprehensive list of access controls (ACLs) from Layer 2 to Layer 4, enabling security enforcement at the network edge. It can be used to restrict network access by blocking packets based on source and destination IP addresses, TCP/UDP port numbers, or defined network applications. Its protection mechanism also includes user and device authentication based on the 802.1x port and based on MAC addresses. With the private VLAN feature, communication between ports at the network edge can be blocked to ensure user privacy.

Enhanced security and traffic control

The GS-5220 series also offers DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection features to prevent IP snooping attacks and reject ARP packets with invalid MAC addresses. A network administrator can now build highly secure corporate networks much faster and easier than before.

The GS-5220 series offers an event notification feature that helps diagnose device malfunctions due to loss of network connection or reboot response.

With a built-in web browser-based management interface, the GS-5220 series offers an easy-to-use and system platform-independent management and configuration interface. The GS-5220 series supports SNMP and can be managed using SNMP v1 or v2 compliant management software. In order to reduce product learning time, the GS-5220 series offers Cisco-style commands via Telnet or console port, so that the user does not have to learn new commands. In addition, the GS-5220 series offers remote security management through support for SSH, SSL and SNMP v3 connections, where package contents can be encrypted during each session.
