✅ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
➡ Is tinning paste alone enough to fill the cavity?
- No. The paste forms a thin layer of whitening on the cleaned plate, which allows the alloy to be properly bound to the substrate. To properly fill and align the repaired area, use the LC25 tin stick.
➡ How to prepare the surface before tinning?
- The repaired element must first be mechanically straightened, and then the varnish, rust and other impurities removed until a clean surface with a metallic sheen is obtained. Before applying the paste, the surface should also be exactly degreased.
➡ How to properly apply tinning paste?
- Apply a very thin layer of paste to the cleaned sheet with a brush and heat it evenly. When the grey paste turns into a glossy silver layer of whitening, the surface should be wiped with a clean cloth. After completing the work, you need to thoroughly remove the residues of flux.
➡ How to properly use wax for a spatula?
- Wax should be applied to the warm wooden spatula before the plastic tin formation begins and again during operation when the material begins to stick to the wood. Wax should not be replaced with oil, as it may interfere with tinning and subsequent varnishing.
➡ Is it possible to tinn vertical surfaces?
- Yes. Vertical elements can be tinned if the alloy is kept in an appropriate plastic state and formed with a waxed spatula. However, it is not recommended to tinn large, unstiffened surfaces, such as roofs or exterior door plating.
