The 4vets Urinary Non-struvite Veterinary Diet is a complete specialized food for cats with urinary tract diseases. It supports the process of treating cystitis and dissolving struvite stones thanks to reduced magnesium content and acidifying properties of urine. Diet can be an element of prevention after the disappearance of ailments. Recommendations: Consultation with a veterinarian is recommended before use. The diet is recommended to be used from 5 to 12 weeks to dissolve struvite stones and up to 6 months to limit their re-creation.

The recommended daily dose is shown in the table on the package. The cat should be provided with constant access to fresh drinking water. Distinguishing features: Cranberry – hipuric acid contained in the fruit has bacteriostatic activity, in addition, the proanthocyanidin, combining with bacterial fimbria, inactivates adhesins, thanks to which it prevents their adhesion to urinary tract epithelial cells. Cranberries effectively lower urine pH, resulting in less bacterial proliferation in the bladder and urinary tract. Thanks to these properties, it supports the process of treating infections and recurrent, chronic urinary tract infections in cats. High quality protein – food based on sources of wholesome animal protein: turkey and lamb.

The limited supply of high-quality protein covers the demand for essential amino acids, but at the same time does not cause their excessive catabolization and the formation of products that could interfere with kidney function. Salmon oil – polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega-3 family present in fish oil inhibit the formation of inflammatory mediators, improve kidney function, especially in aging cats. Dried beer yeast (source of prebiotics: mannanooligosaccharides and β-glucans) – have a beneficial effect on the intestinal bacterial flora. Yeasts have a high biological value and a high content of B vitamins, the deficiencies of which are responsible for the formation of oxalate-calcium crystals. DL-methionine – has urine acidifying properties that limit the re-formation of struvite stones. Struvite stones, i.e. phosphate-ammonium-magnesium stones, are formed in the urine with an alkaline reaction. The substance is recommended for cats with recurrent lower urinary tract problems.
