It is a specialized food for cats suffering from chronic kidney failure and limits the formation of oxalic stones. In the prevention of kidney disease, it is helpful to take the right amount of fluids. In animals prone to kidney disease , a diet that is too high in protein may contribute to kidney failure. Therefore, in Kattovit Renal, unlike conventional food, only about half of the energy comes from protein, so that the food provides the optimal amount of calories, not derived from animal sources. Enrichment with potassium citrate helps to provide less acidic urine (pH neutral), and thus prevents the formation of urinary stones and oxalate crystals. Phosphorus and sodium levels are also reduced.
