The pyrometer is not a medical device, it is not designed to measure body temperature. The values indicated by him show the surface temperature, which in the case of the skin is different from the internal temperature of the body.

✴ Emissivity regulation – precision in all conditions

Many cheaper pyrometers have a constant emissivity, which causes errors when measuring on glossy or metal surfaces. GM1150 allows for full adjustment from 0,10 to 1,00, so you can adjust the device to the test material.

This means that you will get a reliable result both on painted metal, as well as on raw aluminum or ceramic surfaces.

The GM1150 has a STO function, which allows you to store up to 30 measurement results. Thanks to this, you do not have to write values on a piece of paper or on your phone – the device will remember the last readings itself.

What does that mean? You can measure the temperature of objects located very far away from you, maintaining a safe distance from threatening health or life of hot or cold objects. It is enough to direct the pyrometer towards the test object, the device will measure the temperature based on the infrared radiation emission of this object, and then read the measurement.

⭐ Differences in measurements

Such differences are not unusual. It should be remembered that the greater the distance from the test object, the more difficult it is to aim at the object and keep the laser at one point. Objects have different emission capacity of infrared radiation, therefore, with pyrometers with such a function, the appropriate emissivity value should be set.

⭐ Measurements of atmosphere and rooms

The pyrometer measures, reaching the stratosphere, showing a lower temperature. When directed to the clouds, the temperature rises because they reflect infrared radiation.

The air, warming up, becomes lighter and stays up. For this reason, when measuring rooms, the temperature at the floor will be lower than that at the ceiling.

✴ Field of view

Make sure the target is larger than the unit measurement location. The smaller the distance, the closer the target to the center. When accuracy is optimal, make sure the target is at least twice the spot size.

1. Trigger:

Starts the device, when starting for about 1,5 seconds, the version of the device and software is displayed.

Pressing the trigger starts scan functions.

Release trigger stops scanning, a reading appears on the screen.

The device has an automatic shutdown function after 30s.

2. Laser on/off button and backlight:

During the active backlight function each p operation causes the display to be illuminated for approx. 10 seconds.

3 - 6. Function buttons

Press the MODE button to select the operating mode. The following modes will appear on the display:

MAX, MIN, DIF, AVG, HAL, LAL, HUNDRED, EMS

Press the SET (4) button to approve the selected mode. Not selecting any of the above means the basic mode of operation.

a) MAX - measurement of maximum temperature

b) MIN - measurement of minimum temperature

c) DIF - measures differences in relation to previous measured or set value: measure and adjust the value (using the (5) up - down buttons) to which the measurement is to refer, then press SET to approve and measure the difference

d) AVG - measurement of average temperature

e) HAL - high temperature alarm: when this mode is selected, with the up - down buttons set the temperature value after which the alarm is to be activated. During measurement, the device will communicate with the HIGH icon on the display and with an audible signal.

f) LAL - low temperature alarm: when this mode is selected, with the (5) up - down buttons set the temperature value after which the alarm is to be activated. During the measurement, the device will communicate with the HIGH icon on the display and the sound signal.

g) STO - data storage: when this function is activated, an icon with the inscription DATA is displayed on the screen of the device. After measuring, press the STO CAL button to keep the data in the device memory. The memory of the device allows you to remember the reading from 48 measurements. To clear the memory, press the (6) STO CAL button and hold for 3 seconds.

h) EMS - emissivity settings: buttons (4) up - down set the value you are interested in. With the SET button, approve the settings.
