A worn bicycle chain causes poor shifting and can lead to wear and tear on powertrain components, causing more costly problems. The Park Tool CC-4.2 Chain Checker is a drop-in test that measures bicycle chain wear. The laser-cut CC-4.2 accurately measures the long section of the chain and strategically contacts the chain in three places, quickly and easily eliminating guesswork when chain replacement is necessary.
The tool works on any derailleur chain from 5 to 13 gears (including SRAM® T-Type,SRAM® Flattop™,Shimano® XTR® 12-speed and Campagnolo® Ekar™ 13-speed) or single-speed chain and is designed toto accurately indicate when the chain reaches 0,5%,0,75% and 1,0% wear, which are the points where most chain manufacturers suggest replacement.
