One portable camera - four parameters

Accutrend Plus is an apparatus that performs quantitative determinations of glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides and lactic acid directly from capillary blood. Roche belts specially designed for this purpose are used to determine each of these parameters.

Accutrend Plus is designed so that it can be used outside the laboratory - e.g. in the doctor's office or in the hospital. It can also be used to take measurements at home or while playing sports. Determinations are made of capillary blood, and the results are given immediately.

Principle of operation

The Accutrend Plus measures the intensity of the reaction coating of the test strip using a reflection photometer and calculates the concentration of the parameter in the sample using a series-specific algorithm. The result is displayed in mg/dl or mmol/l (for lactic acid only in mmol/l) and stored in the camera memory automatically with the date, time and additional information. The camera stores up to 100 results for each parameter.

Unique test strip technology

Accutrend Plus uses specially designed test strips for glucose (Accutrend Glucose), cholesterol (Accutrend Cholesterol), triglycerides (Accutrend Triglycerides) and lactic acid determinations of exceptional quality. The test strips are made up of the following elements:

• yellow protective mesh soaked with surfactant (application field)
• glass fibre layer separating blood cells
• reaction coating in which a colour reaction takes place
• barcode on the bottom that the camera reads to confirm the type of test strip, i.e. Compliance of the batch number on the test strip with the code stored in the camera.

Built-in security

• Thanks to the built-in security features, Accutrend Plus performs safety checking procedures to prevent potential errors and malfunctions and ensure accurate results.
• The Accutrend Plus allows you to apply blood to the test strip inserted into the camera or outside the camera, e.g. when performing multiple markings.
• Coding strips for identifying a series of test strips and recognizing parameters are used to calibrate the device, which ensures even greater safety and proper operation of the camera.
• Accutrend Control Chol (cholesterol), Accutrend Control GLU (glucose), Accutrend Control TG (triglycerides) and BM-Control Lactate (lactic acid) control solutions can be used to further check the functioning of the apparatus.

Fast and accurate result in three steps

1. Turning on the camera

Turn on the camera and slide the test strip into the guide. The flashing arrow signals that the lid of the measuring chamber must be opened to apply blood.

2. Blood application

Take a drop of blood from your fingertip and apply it to the yellow application field within 15 seconds. Do not touch the application field with your finger. Blood can also be applied outside the camera. (follow the instructions in the Accutrend Plus manual)

3. Measurement

Close the cover of the measuring chamber and wait for the result. All further actions are performed automatically by the camera. When the reaction is complete, the result will appear on the display. Values outside the measuring range will be displayed as “Hi” (above the measuring range) or “Lo” (below the measuring range).

The Accutrend Plus is very easy to use. To take the measurement, simply turn on the camera, insert the test strip, apply a drop of blood and close the cover of the measuring chamber. The camera can be used by a person who is a specialist in the field of medicine, as well as a person performing measurements on their own. No specific training is necessary to use the apparatus (the apparatus meets the safety requirements of DIN EN 61010-1 and the requirements of the EU Directive on in vitro diagnostic medical equipment 98/79/EG).
