How to use Accu-Chek Performa

With peripheral circulatory disorders, self-checking blood glucose levels may not be the right solution. Please consult your doctor.
Wash your hands in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry completely.
Prepare the lancing device.
Check the expiration date of the strip tests on the strip test container. Do not use strip tests after their expiry date.
Insert the strip test into the glucose meter according to the direction of the arrows. The glucose meter will turn on.
Get a drop of blood with a lancer.
Apply a drop of blood to the front edge of the yellow striped text mock-up. Do not apply blood to the top of the strip test. The blinking symbol indicates that there is already enough blood in the strip test.
Warnings about the use of Accu-Chek Performa
This is a medical device. Use it according to the instructions for use or label.
Blood galactose > 15 mg/dL (> 0,83 mmol/L) leads to an erroneous overestimation of glucose measurements.
Lipemic samples (triglycerides) > 1800 mg/dL (> 20,3 mmol/L) may lead to an overestimation of glucose measurement results.
Intravenous administration of ascorbic acid leading to blood acid > 3 mg/dL (> 0,17 mmol/L) will result in an overestimation of blood concentration results.
In peripheral circulatory disorders, it is not recommended to take capillary blood from standard sites, as there is a possibility that physiological glucose levels will not be correctly determined. This includes cases such as severe dehydration due to keronic acidosis in diabetes or hyperglycemic-hypermolar syndrome, hypotension, shock, decompensated NYHA class IV cardiac insufficiency or atherosclerosis of the lower extremities.
The hematocrit value should be in the range of 10-65%. Please consult your doctor if the value of your own hematocrit is unknown.
The system is tested for use at heights up to 309 meters.
