Increased resistance and water resistance

OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 has a sealed design, and the most important access points, such as the battery cover, are equipped with a double lock mechanism. These unique solutions guarantee water resistance up to 15 m, as well as a high level of resistance to contact with sand and dust. The camera works great in temperatures up to -10°C, the front lens is protected against double glass evaporation. The TG-7 model is impact resistant, withstands falls from a height of up to 2,1m and crushing with force up to 100kg. The camera is simply irreplaceable on photographic escapades in difficult terrain, for example in the mountains. It is ready for any adventure thanks to its compact dimensions and light weight and, of course, the unmatched functionality typical of the Tough series. Anti-slip grip keeps the camera from slipping out of wet hands.

Bright lens and the ability to shoot in RAWs

The TG-7 is equipped with a bright lens with 4x optical zoom, with a maximum aperture of f/2.0 at the widest focal length – this allows shooting with short shutter speeds, which translates into less blurring of even fast-moving objects. Advanced optical technologies were used to achieve such exceptional lens performance, including the DSA (Dual Super Aspherical) lens. The BSI CMOS matrix is characterized by excellent sensitivity, and the anti-glare coating located on both sides of the glass cover prevents the effects of "spirits and "flares". The TruePic VIII image processor, used in our cameras with interchangeable lenses, allows you to get excellent image quality. The camera captures images in RAW format. Photos taken in this way can be edited using our free OM Workspace software.

Macro Modes

The TG-7 offers an impressive ability to shoot subjects from just 1cm away from the front lens and up to 7x image magnification (35mm equivalent). Microscope mode, Microscope control mode, Focus stacking mode and Focus bracketing mode set new boundaries for macro photography. Two optional converters give you even more creative expression. Now everyone can capture what is invisible to the naked eye.

Microscope mode

Shooting at magnification with this camera is essentially like working with a microscope. The object can be very close, even 1cm from the front lens of the lens. After setting the optical zoom, up to 7x magnification of the image is available (equivalent to 35 mm format).

Microscope control mode

In this mode, users can easily switch between 1x, 2x and 4x magnification at the touch of a button, just like when observing objects through a microscope. The rear LCD monitor allows you to observe the object at a magnification of up to 44,4x.

Focus stacking mode

The camera performs a series of exposures with different focus planes, then selects only sharpened images and combines them into one photo. As a result, we get a photograph with a large depth of field. This function is ideal for macro photography. The user can choose from 3 to 10 exposures to have full control over the final result.

Focus bracketing mode

In this mode, the camera performs up to 30 exposures with different focus planes. There are three levels of sharpening offset and three different exposure numbers to choose from, adapted to different subjects and shooting conditions. Focus bracketing is great especially when photographing difficult objects such as flower petals and insect wings. Photos taken in this mode can be edited in OM Workspace software – put them into one photo and get the same effect as in the case of focus stacking mode.

Photographing under water

Tough TG-7 does not require additional housing up to a depth of 15m. It is the perfect companion for underwater activities such as snorkeling or swimming in the river. To go deeper, even at 45m, use the PT-059 underwater enclosure (sold separately). The PT-059 enables collaboration with two external flashes to create a compact, versatile system for underwater flash shooting. Underwater shooting modes offer settings optimized for different scenes. There are five of them: Wide-angle underwater photos, Underwater photo, Underwater macro photos, Underwater microscope and Underwater HDR. White balance modes for underwater shooting at small, medium and large depths automatically adjust to the selected underwater photography mode; it is also possible to manually modify the settings.
