Fujifilm GFX 100 II

The GFX100 II features a newly developed, high-speed 102-megapixel image sensor, the "GFX 102MP CMOS II HS," paired with the super-fast "X-Processor 5" image processing engine. This combination doubles the signal readout speed compared to the previous model. The GFX100 II delivers exceptional image quality thanks to its medium format sensor, which provides rich tonal reproduction and a near three-dimensional rendering of details. Furthermore, the integration of the latest high-speed sensor and the super-fast image processing engine enables the implementation of an AI-based subject detection autofocus system for the first time in the GFX series, developed using deep learning technology. It also utilizes the latest autofocus prediction algorithm previously developed and used in the FUJIFILM X-H2S.

The maximum continuous shooting speed has also improved, increasing from 5.0 frames per second to 8.0 frames per second. This expands the application range of the Fujifilm GFX100 II for various photography genres, from fashion, commercial, and landscape photography to sports and photojournalism, where speed and performance are crucial. The new sensor also significantly improves video recording performance. The camera can natively record 4K/60P 4:2:2 footage and supports 8K/30P for the first time in the GFX series. It also offers new "Video Format" modes that more effectively utilize the unique characteristics of the medium format sensor. The camera supports various professional cinema formats, including Premista, 35mm, and anamorphic (35mm) with the appropriate lens mount adapter. This allows for recording diverse cinematic footage depending on needs and circumstances, supported by increased sensor data readout speed and subject tracking autofocus.

Fujifilm GFX 100 II – Working with External Devices

Along with improved performance come enhanced system expansion capabilities. The GFX100 II body includes an Ethernet port, as well as HDMI Type A and USB-C connectors for connecting various external devices. Support for the " Frame.io Camera to Cloud" service and timecode synchronization with ATOMOS AirGluTM devices further streamline the photo and video production workflow.

Even Higher Image Quality with the Fujifilm GFX 100 II

The camera's image quality is further enhanced by the introduction of a native (non-extended) minimum ISO80 sensitivity and a new "REALA ACE" Film Simulation mode. Hardware improvements also include a 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system with up to 8 stops of stabilization and a high-resolution 9.44 million dot electronic viewfinder with 1.0x magnification. The new camera body design features a large sub-LCD monitor, a tilted top panel, and a new body surface texture. The GFX100 II represents an evolution of the current model in all areas, designed to meet the needs of professional photographers and filmmakers.

The Fujifilm GFX 100 II camera is equipped with a high-resolution 9.44 million dot viewfinder with a 1.0x magnification. It eliminates parallax and distortion that typically occur when the eye position shifts while using the viewfinder, ensuring excellent visibility of the scene being photographed. The camera's electronic viewfinder boasts a refresh rate of approximately 120 frames per second, providing smooth motion and precise identification of fast-moving subjects.

The zone autofocus function can now be customized to the user's needs. The shape of the autofocus area can be set to adapt to specific shooting situations for even more precise focusing.

An improved pixel structure has increased the number of saturated electrons in the sensor, allowing ISO80 to be used as the standard sensitivity (in the non-extended range). When the sensor sensitivity is set to ISO80, the Fujifilm GFX 100 II will capture images with increased dynamic range and lower noise compared to the previous model. New microlenses on the sensor have been improved to enhance light utilization at the edges of the sensor, resulting in better image quality at the edges of the frame and improved autofocus accuracy compared to the previous model. The GFX100 II offers a total of 20 Film Simulation modes, including the new "REALA ACE" simulation, to provide a diverse range of characteristic color tones for your photos.

The "REALA ACE" simulation features faithful color reproduction and high-contrast tonality, making it suitable for photographing any subject in various shooting situations. The Fujifilm GFX 100 II features the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function, which achieves 4x higher resolution and faithful color reproduction. The in-body image stabilization mechanism precisely shifts the sensor by 0.5 pixels and captures 16 RAW images, from which a 400-megapixel image is generated. This is an ideal choice for commercial photography or digital archiving of cultural assets. The camera supports the HEIF file format, which provides 10-bit color depth while maintaining a file size of approximately 70% of JPEG files. This allows for storing higher quality images and saving storage space on memory cards.

Vertical Grip "VG-GFX II" with a dual battery compartment (developed for the GFX100 II). The grip is dust and weather resistant and can operate in low temperatures down to -10°C. It can hold two high-capacity "NP-W235" batteries. Buttons are placed in easily accessible locations, allowing for comfortable shooting when holding the camera horizontally.

Cooling Fan "FAN-001" (designed for GFX100 II, X-H2S, and X-S20 models) which facilitates longer filming times or shooting in high ambient temperatures. It can be attached to the rear of the camera body. Powered wirelessly directly from the Fujifilm GFX 100 II camera body, the fan allows for extended continuous video recording in high ambient temperatures without the risk of overheating.

When this adapter is attached between the camera body and the detachable electronic viewfinder, the tilt angle of the viewfinder can be adjusted from 0° to 90° when shooting horizontally, and from -45° to +45° when shooting vertically.
