Bio-Glo fluorescein strips used for the diagnosis of tear film disorders. Fluorescein stains cavities of the corneal surface and through these cavities penetrates into the intercellular space. Both live and dead cells are not stained with fluorescein.

BioGlo are also used for eye staining in the selection of hard contact lenses, for measuring the break time of the tear film (BUT) and in aplanation tonometry.

• Measured parameter: number of spot dye spots corresponding to cavities on the surface of the cornea.

• Method of execution: cobalt filter in a slotted lamp short-term application of a pre-moistened saline strip to the lower vault of the conjunctival sac, the patient distributes fluorescein several times blinking, spots intensely stained with fluorescein within the eyelid gap are counted.

Method of use

When you open the box, pull out a single strip. Holding the strap horizontally with one hand, rub the edges of its packaging, roughly inside so as not to damage the strap itself. Then, holding the strip with your right hand through the package, spread the torn parts. Properly opened packaging will show the application part of the strip. ATTENTION!!! Before applying the strap to the conjunctival sac.

REMEMBER to pre-moisten it with saline or distilled water.
