MACHTMANN MN18000WD-ATS is a three-phase power generator designed for emergency power supply and operation in places without access to the power grid. The generator provides a voltage of 400 V for three-phase receivers and 230 V for single-phase devices.

MACHTMANN MN18000WD-ATS has a DualPower function, allowing you to switch the way the generator works and increase the power supply capabilities of single-phase receivers.

In a typical three-phase aggregate, the power available on a single 230 V phase is much less than the total generator power. DualPower allows you to use most of the potential of the unit at a single-phase output.

Switching between three-phase mode and DualPower should be done according to the instructions of the device, preferably without a connected load.

The heart of the unit is a four-stroke, two-cylinder 2V95 diesel engine. The cylinders are set in a V system, which allows you to obtain a compact unit design while maintaining the power appropriate for the generator of this class.

The declared engine power is about 26 hp. The unit uses diesel and has been adapted to drive a generator in a transport aggregate.

The two-cylinder design provides a more even operation than the single-cylinder diesel engines used in smaller units. The motor has an electric starter, thanks to which the start-up is carried out using a ignition and a control panel.

The 2V95 engine is air cooled. The system uses a fan that forces air flow around the components of the drive unit.

Air cooling simplifies the design of the unit because the unit does not require a radiator, liquid pump, pipes or periodic replacement of coolant.

During operation, however, it is necessary to ensure free air flow through the housing. Not allowed:

  • cover ventilation openings,
  • set the working unit directly against the wall,
  • allow hot air to be sucked back in,
  • use the device in a closed, non-ventilated room.

The unit should work outside, in a place protected against the accumulation of exhaust gases.

MACHTMANN MN18000WD-ATS has an electric starting system. Starting the engine is carried out using a starter and a 12 V battery.

The kit is offered with a 12V/30Ah starter battery. In the emergency installation, you should regularly check:

  • state of charge of the battery,
  • charging voltage,
  • cleanliness of terminals,
  • connections of wires,
  • the action of the starter,
  • fuel and oil levels,
  • readiness of the control system.

Long-term leaving the unit without starting can lead to battery discharge. The device should be periodically tested under load.

The unit has a diesel tank with a capacity of 30 l and a fuel level indicator. This allows you to control the fuel supply without opening the tank.

There are two different combustion values in current commercial materials:

  • about 2,8 l/h as average consumption,
  • about 1,1 l/h at full load in the descriptive part.

For a unit of this class, a value of about 2,8 l/h is more realistic, but the actual combustion will depend on the load, operating mode, temperature, filter status and characteristics of the powered devices. The discrepancy is described in detail in the comments before publication.

With an average consumption of about 2,8 l/h, the theoretical working time on a 30-liter tank is about 10 hours. Actual time will depend on the useful capacity of the tank and the load level.

The generator has a winding made of 100% copper. Copper provides good electrical conductivity, adequate thermal resistance and proper operating conditions of the generator under load.

The generator produces:
