The Fenix BC25R is a lightweight bicycle flashlight with a beam of 600 lumens and a range of 106 m, specially designed for operation in an urban environment.

Construction

The compact body of the flashlight is made of anodized aluminum, which allows for proper heat dissipation and provides protection against rain and dust (IP66 class). Thanks to its small size, low weight and quick release function, the Fenix BC25R can also be used as a standard handheld flashlight. The aforementioned bicycle holder has a flashlight release function. To do this, simply press down on the locking lever and slide the lamp out of the clamp.

Optical system

The Fenix BC25R flashlight uses a CREE XP-G3 diode emitting a maximum light flux of 600 lumens with a range of 106 m. The light produced has a neutral color, does not tire the eyes, ensures faithful color rendering and the ability to recognize more details in night vision conditions. Unlike standard bicycle flashlights, the optical system has been designed in such a way as not to dazzle other traffic users . The specially constructed reflector (orange peel) has an innovative cut-off line that blocks the top of the light beam. As a result, the flashlight only illuminates the path through the wheel to the height of the steering wheel, without compromising the vision of drivers and pedestrians. The maximum light range is 106 m, which in urban conditions ensures excellent visibility and the ability to react early to the situation on the road. Power The power source is a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh, which, after charging, provides 2 hours of operation in the maximum mode of 600 lumens and 36 hours in the low mode of 50 lumens. The battery is charged via the micro USB port, so we do not have to worry about buying a charger and spare batteries. We can control the battery charge level thanks to the LED indicator, which informs us about the energy status in a simple and legible way.

Operation modes and operation

Fenix BC25R offers 4 modes of continuous light : low → medium → high → turbo and flash light . One large button is used to turn on / off and change the brightness, which also activates the battery level indicator. Simple and intuitive operation is an undoubted advantage for every cyclist, especially in urban agglomerations with high traffic.

Additional functions

Flashlight remembers the last used brightness level . When turned on again, the flashlight will automatically activate in this mode (memory function). Low battery warning is triggered automatically when the defined voltage level drops (blinking LED of the battery level indicator). The flashlight also has overheating protection in turbo mode. In order to lower the temperature, the controller reduces the brightness by a few lumens, which allows you to turn on the turbo mode again.

Installation

The set includes a solid handle for a bicycle handlebar and two spacers to prevent the flashlight from twisting. The assembly is very simple and is limited to tightening one steel screw.
