🚲 Guide to installing bicycle handlebar tape

Step 1: Secure the start end (left top)

Start at the end of the steering wheel (lower part of the drop bar). Leave about 2-3cm of tape to wrap over the end of the bar, then press firmly to fix it. This prevents the tape from slipping while driving and reserves space for the bar end cap.

Step 2: Spiral wrapping (top right)

Wrap the tape up in a spiral with 1/3-1/2 overlapping on each turn, maintaining constant tension to avoid wrinkles or crevices. Make sure you cover the combination of brake lever and handlebar for a smooth, continuous grip.

Step 3: Trim the finishing finish (lower left)

After wrapping to the top of the handlebar (near the stem), cut the excess tape at an angle of 45°. This diagonal cut provides a flat, neat finish with no bulges or raised edges.

Step 4: Install the bar end plugs (bottom right)

Hide the end of the tape into the handlebar tube, then firmly push the included bar end plugs into place to secure the tape. You can also use finishing tape to wrap the outermost layer for extra reinforcement.
