The Satechi Dual Dock Stand is a USB-C docking station with a laptop stand and a built-in M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD enclosure. It allows you to connect monitors, USB devices and a wired Ethernet network, as well as charge your computer via USB-C Power Delivery with up to 75W of power.

The station connects to the computer via two USB-C cables. Supports up to two external monitors in extended desktop mode, taking into account the capabilities and limitations of the connected computer. The SSD compartment allows you to use the additional drive as external storage. The SSD is not included.

Laptop stand with ventilation holes

Dual Dock Stand can be placed under your MacBook. The design lifts the computer at an angle, providing an inclined screen setting and space for heat dissipation.

The station also has vents that support heat dissipation during heavy use.

Connection via two USB-C connectors

To use the full functionality of the station, it is required to connect both USB-C cables to the computer. When only one cable is connected, the available functions are limited.

The sliding aluminum cover allows you to separate the ends of the wires and adjust their spacing to a compatible laptop. Each of the two wires has a length of about 19,05 cm.

The computer should have at least two compatible USB-C ports on the left. The manufacturer lists Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB4 or USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode support.

Support two monitors via HDMI and DisplayPort

Dual Dock Stand allows you to use up to two external monitors. The manufacturer indicates two supported configurations:

• two monitors connected to two HDMI ports,
• One monitor connected to DisplayPort and the other to the HDMI port farthest from DisplayPort.

DisplayPort and its adjacent HDMI port do not work simultaneously. The station does not support three external monitors.

Dual-screen support is available on compatible Macs with Intel processors, MacBooks with Apple Pro and Max chips, and compatible Windows PCs.

Support for monitors on MacBooks with M1, M2 and M3 chips

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with basic M1 or M2 chips support one external monitor through this station. The limitation applies to the basic versions of these systems.

Two monitors with MacBook Air M4

The manufacturer confirms support for two external monitors with MacBook Air M4 from 2025 with the lid open. The following settings are available in this configuration:

• two HDMI monitors: each in 4K resolution at 30 Hz,
• One HDMI monitor in 4K at 30 Hz and one DisplayPort monitor in 4K at 60 Hz.

To achieve a frequency of 60 Hz on both monitors, the manufacturer indicates the need to set one of the screens in 1440p resolution.

M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD enclosure up to 4 TB

The compartment on the bottom of the station supports M.2 NVMe and M.2 SATA SSDs up to 4 TB. It allows you to use the drive to store data, perform backups and transfer files.

• Supported disk formats: 2242, 2260 and 2280.
• Supported connectors: M-key and B+M-key.
• Maximum data transfer rate for NVMe: up to 10 Gbps.
• Maximum data transfer speed for SATA: up to 6 Gbps.
• Maximum supported capacity: 4 TB.

The enclosure does not support double-sided drives or models with a heat sink mounted.

SSD mounting and thermal pad

The included screw and screwdriver are used to mount the disk. The set also includes a thermal pad designed for the SSD chamber.

Before installation, disconnect the station from the computer and power supply. The new drive should be formatted in a manner compatible with the operating system of the connected computer.

Data transfer via USB-A and USB-C

The station provides two USB-A ports and two USB-C ports for data transmission. In each pair, one port supports speeds up to 5 Gbps and the other up to 10 Gbps.

The manufacturer does not recommend using USB-A ports to charge devices. Data ports do not support CD drives, including Apple SuperDrive.

Charge your laptop via USB-C Power Delivery up to 75W

The dedicated USB-C Power Delivery port takes up to 100W of power and allows you to transfer up to 75W to a connected computer. This port is used for power supply and does not support data or image transmission.

The station can draw power from the computer. Connecting an external USB-C power supply is optional, however, the manufacturer recommends them during intensive data transfer or simultaneous use of multiple ports to maintain stability of operation.

Wired Gigabit Ethernet

The Gigabit Ethernet port allows you to connect an RJ45 network cable and use a wired connection with speeds up to 1 Gbps.

Compatible with Windows MacBooks and Laptops

The current product card lists, among others, MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips from 2026 and MacBook Air M5 from 2026. Previous MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models are also supported, taking into account port requirements and monitor support limitations.

The list of compatible Windows devices includes, among others:

• Microsoft Surface Pro 9
• Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2
• Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 9
• Lenovo Legion S7 15ACH6,
• Dell XPS 13 9320.

Two compatible USB-C ports are required for full operation. The manufacturer lists support for macOS, Windows and Chrome OS.

Switch and LED indicator

The station has a physical power switch. When it is moved from the red to green position, a white LED lights up, indicating that the device is turned on.

Before turning off the station and connecting or disconnecting its power supply, it is necessary to safely eject the connected drives in the operating system.
