Contribution for removing Dafi nitrates

The Dafi nitrate removal cartridge contains anionic ion exchange resin, the composition of which is designed specifically to remove nitrates from water intended for consumption. High concentrations of nitrates in drinking water can lead to anemia and cyanosis. Nitrates get into drinking water mainly from fields and septic tanks, hence this cartridge is recommended especially for houses with their own water intakes.

Purolite A520E is a highly alkaline polystyrene ion exchange resin. It has been specially developed to remove nitrates from water intended for consumption. Macroporous matrix and functional groups have high selectivity for nitrates in a wide range of concentrations, even in the presence of elevated concentrations of sulphate ions. This anionicite works in chloride form.

REGENERATION

Purolite A520E ion exchange resin cartridge replace or regenerate with 10% table salt solution max. after 4-5 weeks of use

Regeneration consists in passing through the resin cartridge 3 liters of 10% table salt solution in the direction opposite to the direction of water flow during filter operation. After such regeneration, the cartridge can soften 350-400 liters of water. The cartridge can be regenerated many times, but it is necessary to take into account the fact of reducing the mechanical durability of the resin (the impact of concentrated regenerative solution, friction of granules during filter operation, etc.).
