The industry-leading SmartRow app captures fitness metrics and key performance metrics such as power characteristics, heart rate, and stroke length for each training session, allowing you to track your workout results and analyze data to improve your technique. Each workout is saved and available in the app, allowing you to review all previous training cycles, encouraging you to beat your own records.

Analyze and compare performance data with other WaterRower users from the comfort of your home, challenge your teammate in total 2K on the boathouse or simply find daily motivation by improving your own records. SmartRow brings out the master of rowing from every user.

An additional mounting bracket is required to mount the SmartRow roller in the M1 series rowing machines.

The holder can be purchased separately.

Attention! :

• Assembly required. Estimated assembly time is 45 minutes. Additional tools are needed for assembly: 3/4/5/6mm Allen wrenches and 1/2 inch or flat eye wrench. If the SmartRow conversion module/roller is ordered along with the WaterRower, assembly is still required on its own. The SmartRow kit comes with a small/side phone holder visible in the pictures.

The SmartRow app is compatible with most Bluetooth telemetry belts on the market. Make sure the belt uses the open standard Bluetooth protocol. We recommend using belts such as Polar H7.

What is SmartRow? SmartRow is a smart roll for wooden WaterBikes that measures power in a radically new way. The electronics inside the roll measure the pull strength and length and calculate the power, regardless of the water level in the tank. The data is presented wirelessly on a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet.

What are the benefits of SmartRow? First of all: accuracy. Better data on training. With SmartRow, you can optimize your workout because it shows a graph of strength, every stroke. Great way to improve your technique! The heart rate sensor can also be easily connected to your device, and the results will be presented during your workout. Having workouts on your mobile device is also a great advantage of the SmartRow roller.

Can I connect the SmartRow app to my S4 monitor? No, you can't. SmartRow is an independent power meter and has a direct Bluetooth connection to your mobile device.

Do I need to enter the water level in the app? No, you don't. SmartRow measures the force measured regardless of the amount of water in the tank. You can change the water level according to your preferences and still compare your results with others in a 100% fair way.

Do I need to calibrate SmartRow, such as with a powermeter on my bike? You don't have to calibrate anything! SmartRow calibrates itself, and thus automatically adapts to changes in recoil bungeo in relation to temperature and time.

Which heart rate monitors are compatible with SmartRow? The SmartRow app will only work with Bluetooth heart rate monitors that use the open standard Bluetooth protocol. There are many monitors on the market, such as chest straps, watches, armbands and fitness trackers. Check before you buy something new. For accuracy reasons, we recommend using a chest strap.

What batteries should I use and how many hours can I train on batteries? We recommend 3 AA 2500 mAh alkaline batteries. Other 1,5Volt AAs will work, but this can affect the number of hours you can do. Depending on the quality of the battery, you can train for at least 50 hours.

Can I change the layout of my display? If you go to settings > display options, you can turn "advanced" mode on or off. When Advanced Mode is disabled, metrics are limited to a simple layout.

If Advanced Mode is enabled, you can personalize the metrics (settings > change display settings) and select from the list below:

• Power [W] - power in watts, last stroke
• Ave. power [W] - average wattage from the beginning of training
• Energy [Kcal] - energy burned in calories from the beginning of training
• p. /min/SPM - actual number of beats per minute
• Str.length [cm] - length of the last stroke
• Str.count - number of strokes from the beginning of training
• Work [J] - energy in the joules of the last stroke
• Peak force [N] - maximum force in Newton during the last stroke
• Speed / 500 m - 500-meter division of the time of the last stroke
• Ave. speed / 500 m - average split time of 500 meters from the beginning of training
• Speed [m/s] - speed wm/s of last stroke
• Speed [km/h] - speed in km/h of last stroke
• Speed [kCal/h] - speed in kCal/h, last stroke

What is Watt/Kg and Watt/Beat? These are professional performance indicators. After training, the SmartRow app divides the average power by the weight entered in the "profile settings". If you use a heart rate sensor, the app will display "Watt/beat", which is a breakdown of average power and average heart rate.

Why should I register an account? If you register an account and are logged in, all workouts will be stored on our server and will always be available on other devices. If the training data is not lost, after switching to another device.

How do I enable SmartRow? One pull activates SmartRow. When you see two flashing blue LEDs, SmartRow will start searching for the connection. If there is no Bluetooth connection within 1 minute, it will turn off.

Blue LEDs flash, what now? SmartRow is looking for a Bluetooth connection. Open the SmartRow app and press the Bluetooth button or go to Settings to initiate a call.

The red LED lights up, what does that mean? If you see a red LED, it means that the batteries need to be replaced.

Can't connect to SmartRow? Make sure that your mobile device's Bluetooth is active.

Do blue LEDs flash when you rotate the SmartRow?

• Yes, go to Settings > Bluetooth SmartRow and connect SmartRow.
• No, check the batteries and/or battery connection.

I have a connection, but it doesn't work?

• Are you connected to the appropriate SmartRow? If you initiate a connection, the flashing blue LEDs should go out within two seconds. If SmartRow LEDs are still flashing, you are probably connected to another SmartRow. You will need a two-digit SmartRow ID number.
• Is SmartRow installed properly? If you are sitting on your WaterRower, the SmartRow battery cable must be on the left. If not, it is incorrectly mounted. This should be fixed first.
