Yamaha MusicCast 20 is one of the most versatile wireless speakers on the market. The multitude of functions used in this device means that MusicCast 20 can wake you up in the morning in the bedroom with the sound of your favorite radio station, accompany you during the day as a mini stereo set in your home office, and in the evening wirelessly connected to the receiver or soundbar to play surround effects in the home theater.

The Yamaha MusicCast 20 speaker, as the name suggests, is part of the MusicCast multiroom system, so you can wirelessly transfer audio between devices even if they are in different rooms in your home. You can easily transmit sound e.g. from the TV connected in the living room to the Yamaha soundbar to the MusicCast 20 speaker, which is located in the bedroom.

Two MusicCast 20 speakers can be wirelessly paired to create a fully networked stereo system where one speaker will play the left and the other the right channel. Such a set will perfectly replace you mini-tower in the bedroom or serve as the perfect companion for your laptop. If you want to amplify low frequencies in such a set, you can also wirelessly connect the MusicCast SUB 100 subwoofer.

MusicCast multiroom system

Yamaha’s MusicCast system is the most advanced multiroom environment. It allows you to transfer high-quality audio between all audio devices from the MusicCast family via your home Wi-Fi network (and there are already several dozen of them). So we can make music accompany us throughout our home. If we want, MusicCast components can of course become independent devices – then we can listen to different music on each device. This means that in the kitchen you can listen to Internet radio, in the living room of your favorite playlist from the streaming service, and the speaker in the children's room will play songs for toddlers. All at the same time! The MusicCast Controller application is available for iOS and Android.

MusicCast Surround - can be used as effect speakers in wireless connection with an AV receiver or soundbar

MusicCast Surround is the latest feature of the MusicCast system and enables wireless audio transmission to speakers that act as rear speakers in a multi-channel system. Transforming your living room into a cinema room is easier than ever! Extremely functional from the user’s point of view is that when Yamaha MusicCast 20 is not used in surround sound system, it can be used to sound other rooms in the house. MusicCast Stereo - the ability to wirelessly pair two speakers in a mini stereo

Another convenience is the ability to wirelessly connect two MusicCast 20 speakers together. This creates a mini stereo system that faithfully reproduces your favorite music. This combination is ideal for people who are looking for e.g. A desktop speaker system that works with your home computer or an alternative to a mini-tower in your bedroom. The low tones in such a system can be amplified wirelessly by connecting the speakers to the MusicCast SUB 100 subwoofer.

Pre-programmed buttons (preset) for instant playback

The button programming feature is a simple tool that allows you to turn on your favorite radio station without reaching for your phone with the control app. Save your favorite radio under a given preset button, and in the future just press the button on the top of the Yamaha MusicCast 20 case, because the room resounded with the sounds of your favorite station. Since the speaker is equipped with an Internet radio function, you can easily e.g. Recall the memory of the holiday by setting a local radio under one of the buttons from the place of summer rest.

Embedded music streaming services

Thanks to cooperation with online music services, the Yamaha speaker downloads music from increasingly popular music services that have virtually unlimited song libraries. With services like Tidal, Spotify, Deezer, and Qobuz, accessing music comes down to tapping the right password into your smartphone app. Integrating the above services with the speaker also means that music will be downloaded from the network directly via MusicCast 20, without absorbing the battery of your smartphone.

Spotify Connect for free accounts

Until now, owners of audio devices could only use free Spotify in one way – streaming music from their phone via Bluetooth – because Spotify Connect was only available to Premium account holders. Now Spotify users can play music directly on their Yamaha MusicCast devices. Your phone won’t waste battery life, and you can make/receive calls without interrupting playback!

Wireless music from smartphone and tablet - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, Airplay

The dual-band Wi-Fi module (2.4 and 5 GHz) used in the speaker guarantees a stable and fast connection. Simply pair your device with your home router to access streaming services, music stored on your computer drive, or your local NAS.

Bluetooth version 4.2 makes it possible to send any music wirelessly to the speaker, e.g. from online video services. Another advantage of the MusicCast 20 is AirPlay support, which allows you to wirelessly play recordings from your iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, as well as from Mac and PC with iTunes libraries.

AirPlay 2 – send music to multiple MusicCast devices simultaneously

AirPlay 2 allows you to send music from Apple products to several MusicCast devices at the same time (the previous version only allowed a 1:1 connection – one Apple device sends music to one Yamaha speaker). Now in each room can play different music or the same throughout the house. You can decide where to play on the screen of your iPhone/iPad/Mac – using Control Center or the native Home app (Apple Home). If you use Siri on Apple devices, you will now also be able to voice control your music e.g. Voice call songs from Apple Music and play them on your chosen Yamaha device.

Bluetooth Output®*

With Bluetooth Output®, MusicCast 20 efficiently sends a signal to any device with a built-in Bluetooth® module. These can be headphones when you do not want to distract your fellow residents with your favorite music, or another Bluetooth® speaker that does not have such advanced network functionality. This eliminates the need to distribute troublesome cables around the apartment.
