How to choose the right balance bike for your child?

When choosing the right balance bike, pay attention to the height adjustment range of the saddle. It is not only necessary to suggest the age or height of consolation, because each child has a different body structure and merely measuring growth may not be enough. We recommend taking a very simple measurement of the length of the legs, which will help you decide which height will be the best.

Measurement

To make such a measurement, a book, a meter and a piece of wall are enough. We measure the child in the shoes in which he will ride (and in a diaper, if the child is still using it) and set them on an even surface, back to the wall and with a book between his legs. The top edge of the book should touch the baby’s step – it is important to straighten the legs. Measurement is made from the top edge of the book to the ground (Fig. ).

Selection of a balance bike based on the measurement

The measurement will be used to choose the right height of the bicycle saddle. From the obtained measurement should be subtracted approx. 2-3 cm, - the child will repel on bent legs, not straightened. A comfortable and correct riding position is slightly bent knees and pushing off the toes and midfoot from the ground. If the child is just starting to learn how to ride a bike, he will walk with it at the beginning - you should lower the saddle to the maximum to make it easier to put the whole foot on the ground and thus facilitate movement.
