One of the most interesting functions is taking a screenshot (PrintScreen) by pressing two buttons up and down simultaneously for 3 seconds. ✅ How to check if the vehicle meets the OBDII emission standard?

The OBDII system is mandatory for the following cars:

• sold after January 1, 1996 in the US
• sold after January 1, 2001 in the European Union
• sold after January 1, 2002 in Poland
• diesel cars sold after January 1, 2004

There is also the possibility that cars sold earlier may also have OBDII , but it was not mandatory for manufacturers at that time.

✅ Cars equipped with the OBDII system have:

• characteristic 16-pin connector,
• two or more oxygen sensors (λ probes),
• should have a sticker informing about the exhaust gas emissions, which is usually placed on most vehicles under the hood or by the radiator. This sticker has information whether the vehicle is OBDII certified.

The mere possession of a characteristic connector by the vehicle is not an indicator of operating the OBDII system - all three of the above conditions must be met.
