Diagnosing and updating software:

in buffer mode, during diagnostics and software updates, the device can simultaneously power additional receivers in a parallel system. The battery charging system provides current up to 35 A.

After all, the design of battery charging systems is a complex topic that raises many questions, below is an overview of the answers to the most important related to charging batteries.

What does "Electronics Safety" mean for Fronius rectifiers?

All Fronius rectifiers are safe for electronics, i.e. With its adjustable input voltage, the battery can be charged in the vehicle. Secondly, they do not contain peak voltages that could damage the vehicle’s electronic systems.

Why does Fronius use adjustable characteristics in rectifiers?

All Fronius charging characteristics are regulated (controlled) by a microprocessor and therefore adapt to the state of charge of the battery.

In the case of traction devices (Selectiva), there are many characteristics, because battery technology plays an important role here. Using these characteristics, all common types of batteries can be charged.

For comparison: most ordinary 50 Hz rectifiers do not have adjustable charging characteristics. This means that the batteries are overcharged and the charging times are significantly extended. In addition, these rectifiers are not safe for electronics.

Why are Fronius rectifiers so small and weigh so little?

Active Inverter Technology is the so-called high frequency technology. This means that the standard network frequency (50 Hz) is raised x times, so that the transformer can be many times smaller and lighter. For this reason, it is possible to maintain the small size and weight of our rectifiers.

Why is every seventh charge free in Fronius rectifiers?

Thanks to Active Inverter Technology, the efficiency factor (up to 96%) is much higher compared to ordinary 50 Hz rectifiers. This results in energy savings of 20 to 30%. After 6 charges, the energy savings compared to 50 Hz rectifiers are so high that 7 charges are as if free.

Why are there two series of Fronius devices available?

There are two types of batteries: starter and traction. Both types of batteries require, due to their different characteristics, also different charging techniques. For this reason, Fronius offers the Acctiva series of starter battery devices and the Selectiva series for traction or drive batteries.

Are the Fronius battery charging systems available in individual versions?

All Fronius rectifiers are also available in OEM versions. The following individual options are currently available:
