The first folding fotelelik for preschoolers from Cybex, as a new definition of compact mobility. Designed for children from about 3 years, to cars equipped optionally with the isofix system, it is also allowed to use without it.

It is dedicated to children from the age of approx. 3 years to approx. 12 years, whose height ranges from 100cm to 150cm, and weight from 15 to 50kg. Solution G2 i-Fix is a car seat in which we carry the child only forward-facing.

We use a car belt to protect the child, it does not have internal belts, just like car seats for smaller children.

The main task of the seat from this group is protection in a side impact and guaranteeing the correct course of the car belt relative to the child's body during a frontal collision. This is guaranteed by the guides: shoulder attached to the headrest, left and right, depending on the side on which we seat the child, and double hip guide. It is hard not to notice them, because they are green in color.

The movable element, connected to the guide, having a direct impact on the height and course of the belt is the headrest.

It is adjustable in 12 height levels, and as its position changes, we raise or lower the shoulder guide at the same time and change the belt height uniting.

The headrest, as in other models in the Solution family, has a patented tilt adjustment mechanism. It prevents your baby’s head from falling off while sleeping on the go.

A novelty in this model is the ability to change the tilt of the entire seat, which we realize with the help of a button, which is located on the seat, from the bottom of the seat. When you press this button, the seat goes forward, on the isofix rails, allowing the backrest to tilt.

A unique feature of the g2 model is the foldability of the seat, making it easy to carry and transport outside the car seat. Folding is carried out with the same button as adjusting the angle of the backrest. After folding, we get access to a special handle for easy carrying.

Cybex Solution G2 i-Size – comfort - during sleep i travel

When folded, the Solution G2 is compact enough that you can easily put it in your backpack, behind the driver’s seat, in the trunk, or in the overhead storage compartment for communication. And thanks to the fact that weighs only 5,8 kg, it will be easier and easier for you to traverse the city and move between the car, taxi, subway and train. The lack of aviation approval may come as a surprise as a product that sets a new definition of mobility for car seats.

The comfort of the child is also not forgotten here - the G2 seat has a ventilated shell, several dozen holes in each of the elements. The plastic seat on the entire surface is a ventilation mesh.

In the side wings, not only the outer sheathing – the shell, but also the energy-intensive foams under the material have several dozen holes. Unfortunately, the headrest is full and lacks ventilation.

Solution G2 i-Size is the second seat in the "Solution" family, which has a backrest tilt mechanism, which is very rare in seats from the group of 100-150cm.

A novelty for the older G model is the tilt grading, it has several position settings, instead of two 0-1 as it was in the older model. The change is carried out using a centrally located button, which is located directly under the seat.

The possibility of deviation is extremely useful when traveling, during the child's sleep. It prevents the head from falling on the chest, thus increasing the level of protection - the head always remains inside the headrest, i.e. in a safe zone.

An additional mechanism affecting the remaining head inside the headrest is the patented, adjustable in three degrees of depth headrest. The high level of comfort is also influenced by the soft upholstery, made of high-quality fabric combined with a layer of sponge as a lining.

The material cover can be removed and machine washed at 30°C

Cybex Solution G2 i-Fix security and ADAC tests

The increase in the safety of the child during a side impact is directly influenced by the foams inside the seat and the energy-consuming outer shell, which thanks to its elasticity, automatically adapts to the size of the child in width. The effect is noticeable only when there is a lack of space inside the seat.

Not without significance is the additional side protection system L.S.P. plus which we can optionally remove, from the unnecessary side, or both sides in the case of mounting the seat in the middle, saving space for other seats or people sitting next to the child.

The L.S.P plus system, in a sense, determines the point of first contact as the optimal point that concentrates the energy of the side impact, and then properly disperses it throughout the shell, and in particular on the back of the seat back. This causes about 20% less energy to reach the passenger.

In addition, the patented tilting headrest improves head protection up to seven times, compared to the head located outside the safety zone in the same seat, this has been confirmed in the side impact test on the principles of ADAC, at a speed of 27km / h. During frontal collisions, safety is supported by ISOFIX fastening.

Direct installation in the hooks of the system, actively increases the safety of the child during the collision, not allowing the child to be pressed to the belt, as well as passive when driving without a child – when the seat is plugged in, it does not move inside the vehicle during impact or sudden braking. In addition, we do not have to fasten an empty seat with a seat belt.

The Cybex Solution G i-Fix is the first cybex to meet the requirements of the most restrictive UN R-129/04 standard, in the fourth letter, colloquially called i-Size. As part of the tests of this standard, the seats are subjected to crash tests of every possible type. Passing them is the first sign of a high level of protection. On the day of its premiere, November 2024, it will not have passed ADAC tests. We will probably have to wait for these until the next spring test round in May 2025.

It is worth mentioning here that the predecessor, i.e. cybex solution G, set the bar very high, gaining in adac tests, the best result in its category of 100-150cm. in the history of ADAC tests.
