In the last quarter of 2024, the owner of the ORIENT brand informed the world about changes in the production of most watches. The change will consist in the fact that the existing models produced in China with mechanisms originating from Japan will be produced entirely in Thailand.

Thus, the brand was forced to change the references of watches, or rather their parts and give new models new EAN numbers. The change also applies to the markings on the shields. Until now, Japan movt appeared on the watch faces, which suggested that the movement originated in Japan. At the moment, the aforementioned inscription has been replaced with caliber markings of the mechanism.

The most popular models will have changed reference ends and some will have the beginning of references. For example, ORIENT RA-AR0004S10B has been replaced by a new reference ORIENT RA-AR0004S30B and ORIENT FAC00009N0 has been replaced by TAC00009N0.

In addition to the markings themselves and a small change on the dial, the models look analogous to the previous ones. The timepieces are still produced under the supervision of the Japanese in factories in Thailand, and their quality is invariably very good.

An additional change is also the abandonment of two books, i.e. warranty and user manual for one booklet, which contains warranty data and QR code, thanks to which we can download the user manual in a hassle-free way.
