This new generation includes many improvements such as much higher screen resolution, wireless Apple CarPlay, 2 USB ports, as well as a built-in Class D amplifier and Hi-Res Audio capabilities.

Next Generation 2DIN Digital Media Station

The iLX-705D is the official successor to the highly popular iLX-702D digital multimedia station. We’ve further improved this product by adding tons of new features, greater compatibility, an HD screen, and the world’s first use of a Class D amplifier inside the main unit.

7-inch HD WXGA display

The iLX-705D has the best 7-inch display we have ever placed in a 2DIN device. The 7-inch HD touchscreen display has a resolution of 1280 x 720p (WXGA) and features stunningly vivid colors and contrast, making icons, menus and visual content even more prominent on the dashboard. A high-resolution screen is particularly useful for displaying small texts or similar items on navigation maps.

Apple CarPlay Wireless Support

The iLX-705D “works with Apple CarPlay” wirelessly and allows iPhone users to make and receive calls, access and write text messages, play music, and get directions in a way that allows them to focus on the road. Apple CarPlay is accessed via a capacitive touchscreen or microphone button to activate Siri voice control. With a WiFi connection, you can keep your iPhone in your pocket and don't have to plug it in at all times (except charging).

2x USB ports

Although the iLX-705D is a non-mechanism device (no built-in CD/DVD drive), you still have plenty of entertainment options. Two USB ports located on the back of the device allow, for example, to connect one portable device for charging, while a second USB port is used to connect a USB stick or hard drive to access audio and video files.

Compatibility with Android Auto

Android Auto allows you to use hundreds of useful applications for smartphones with the Alpine system (wired connection). There are many popular navigation apps available, such as Google Maps, Sygic, Waze, Magic Earth - to name a few. Enjoy streaming music from Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer, and more, and stay connected with WhatsApp and other popular messaging apps—directly from the Alpine screen.

The world's first radio player with built-in Class D amplifier

The iLX-705D is next to the new Alpine Halo11 and Halo9 the world's first radio player equipped with a built-in 4x 50W Class D amplifier - enabling excellent high-end sound reproduction with very low noise or phase shifts. A key advantage of Class D amplification technology is its high efficiency of about 90%, compared to 50-70% for Class AB amplifiers. New high-speed fans with internal heat sinks keep your Alpine car radio cool – and keep your music playing.

Enjoy excellent sound quality

Featuring 56-band advanced mode parametric equalizer, 2-way digital X-over, 6-channel digital time correction, and several Bass Engine SQ and MediaXpander sound tuning options, you have the perfect tools at your disposal to tune your iLX-705D and the included amplifier/speaker system to perfection. But we didn’t stop there: the iLX-705D is Hi-Res Audio certified and can decode and play Hi-Res Audio files up to 96kHz/1.536kbps from USB sources in uncompressed supported formats such as FLAC, WAV and APE.

Broad entertainment possibilities

The all-new DAB radio tuner allows DAB - FM switching and allows you to enjoy smooth radio reception without interference. In addition to the increased number of USB video playback formats (MP4, MOV, FLV, MKV), the iLX-705D has many additional entertainment options: the built-in Bluetooth module allows you to stream audio from your phone, and the HDMI input allows you to connect an external video playback device.

Connecting the vehicle data bus

If your car is equipped with parking sensors and, you can continue to enjoy these convenient features with the iLX-705D. Alpine offers multiple vehicle data bus interfaces that allow you to connect your Alpine device to your vehicle data bus system. This allows compatibility with the control buttons on the steering wheel of the vehicle, displaying air conditioning settings, as well as displaying parking sensors.

Driving Assist Cameras

The reversing camera is a great way to increase safety when reversing. The camera image turns on automatically when the reverse gear is turned on, and distance indicators appear on the screen, which can be adjusted to the size of the car to help park the vehicle safely. Alpine offers a wide range of forward and backward facing cameras, including multi-position cameras with a choice of viewing angles. You can even display the camera screen and parking sensor simultaneously if your car supports this feature.

Wireless control knob

Available separately, the RUE-BK01 knob is designed for the 2022 Halo series, but also works with the iLX-705D (requires custom installation in the center console or dashboard). Rotating the knob adjusts the volume of the main unit, while pressing it activates the reversing camera on the screen.

Note: This knob does not work if Apple CarPlay wireless service is active.
