TOPPING DX1 II is an uncompromising combo device that completely redefines the concept of compact desktop audio equipment. This 275-gram titanium combines the capabilities of a reference digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a powerful fully balanced headphone amplifier and a precision DSP processor with an extensive 10-band PEQ equalizer. At the heart of the digital processing chip is the sensational ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M chipset, which provides crystal clear sound and extremely high dynamics of 128 dB, reducing distortion (THD+N) to a completely inaudible ceiling below 0.00007%.

The real phenomenon of the DX1 II is its power and amplification section. The device does not require an external power supply (so-called. cubes) – draws energy directly from the USB connector of the computer. Despite this, it can deliver monstrous power up to 1000 mW per channel (at 32 Ω) from a balanced 4.4 mm output! This is absolutely enough to control almost any headset, including power-hungry planars, while maintaining the completely "black" (noise-free) background necessary to use high-sensitivity in-ear monitors (IEMs).
