Meze Audio presented the 105 AER headphones, which are the most affordable open headphones in the company’s history. With its open design, the 105 AER offers a dynamic and immersive listening experience that truly connects the listener to the music.

For those looking for an affordable way to fine tune Meze audio, the new 105 AER headphones provide just that for $400.

The 105 AER headphones are modeled after the 109 Pro. However, they are said to differ in every other way except for the headband system and velour ear cups.

For example, the 105 AER uses 50 mm dynamic transducers. They are coated with a PEEK polymer frame instead of a beryllium coating on the 109 Pro.

The transducers also have carbon fiber reinforced cellulose composite domes. They are placed in ABS plastic ear cups (instead of aluminum), which are shaped like complex mechanical pieces of jewelry.

Like the 109 Pro, the 105 AER has a double V-shaped headband and generously padded ear cups for maximum comfort.

The new headphones are designed to be easily powered from portable sources and headphone amplifiers. These are open type headphones, providing a large soundstage and excellent spatial description. In other words, they have a similar sound profile to the 109 Pro, but with slightly looser high frequencies and more bass.
