✅ Stages of filtration

The filtration system in RO7 consists of seven stages that combine advanced reverse osmosis technology with processes to improve water quality. Each stage performs a specific function, contributing to obtaining clean, tasty and enriched water with beneficial minerals and health-promoting properties.

✅ Pre-filtration

The first three filters prepare water for the further process, removing larger impurities and protecting the osmotic membrane from damage.

1 Sediment filter 5 microns

How does a sediment filter work?

Filter construction:

• The sediment filter is made of high quality polypropylene nonwoven fabric.
• Nonwoven fabric is in the form of dense foam with micropores that effectively retain particles of impurities.
• Filters with different degrees of accuracy are available (e.g. 5 microns and 1 micron), allowing you to customize the filtration process to suit your water type and expected purity level.

Mechanism of action:

• Water flows through the filter, and larger solid particles are retained on the surface of the nonwoven fabric or inside it.
• Thanks to the structural microchambers and multi-layer construction, filtration is carried out evenly, which increases the efficiency and extends the life of the filter.
• Purified water flows further to the next stages of the system, such as a carbon filter or osmotic membrane.

2 Carbon block - activated carbon

How does an activated carbon filter work?

Active carbon structure:

• The filter is made of activated carbon, which is characterized by an extremely large active surface area – up to 1000 m² per gram. This surface is formed by an activation process that gives carbon a micropore structure that allows it to absorb impurities at the molecular level.

Adsorption process:

• During the flow of water through the filter, pollutant particles are attracted and retained on the surface of the carbon pores. The filter acts as a "magnet", catching:
• Free chlorine and its derivatives, such as chloroform.
• Organic substances, including pesticides, herbicides and phenols.
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can cause unpleasant taste and smell of water.
• Heavy metals, to a lesser extent (e.g. lead or mercury).

Neutralization of taste and smell:

The carbon filter effectively removes factors responsible for the unpleasant smell and taste of water, such as chlorine or organic compounds. This makes the water more pleasant to consume and ideal for cooking.

3 Sediment filter 1 micron

The principle of operation is very similar to that of the 5 micron filter.

Gradual removal of impurities:

In RO7, two sediment filters are usually used:

• 5 Micron Accuracy Filter: Removes larger contaminants such as sand, mud, and rust.
• 1 Micron Accuracy Filter: Works as finer filtration, eliminating smaller particles and preparing water for further filtration steps.

4 Osmotic membrane 75 GPD

How does the osmotic membrane work?

Membrane construction:

• The osmotic membrane consists of thin-film polymer sheets spirally wound onto a perforated mandrel.
• Each layer contains microscopic pores of 0,0001 microns, which allow only water molecules and several other very small molecules to pass through.
• Unwanted impurities, larger than the size of the pores, are retained on the surface of the membrane and removed into the sewage system.

Reverse osmosis process:

• High pressure water flows through the membrane.
• The natural process of osmosis (where water flows from an area with a lower concentration of impurities to a higher one) is reversed. In reverse osmosis, water passes from an area with a higher concentration of impurities to a lower one, leaving harmful substances on one side of the membrane.

Removal of contaminants:

• The osmotic membrane effectively stops:
• Heavy metals: Lead, mercury, cadmium, aluminum.
• Chemicals: Nitrates, nitrites, pesticides, herbicides, chlorine, chloramines.
• Dissolved salts and minerals: Calcium and magnesium salts, which are responsible for water hardness.
• Microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, cysts.
• Other contaminants: Microplastics, petroleum products, drug residues.

Discharge system:

• Pollutants retained on the membrane are automatically flushed and discharged into the drain, which prevents their deposition and extends the life of the membrane.

5 Linear filter with activated carbon

• Contains high quality activated carbon granules.

Functions:

• Removes chlorine residue and chemical contaminants.
• Improves the taste and smell of water.

Mechanism of action:

• The porous surface of carbon absorbs particles of undesirable chemicals.

6 Linear mineralizer

How does a mineralizer work?

Enrichment of water after osmosis: Water purified by the osmotic membrane is devoid of almost all substances, including both impurities and minerals. The mineralizer, placed as one of the last stages of filtration, restores water key elements in the right proportions.

Mineralizer composition: The mineralizer is filled with a specially selected dolomite cartridge that contains natural minerals such as:

• Calcium (Ca): Strengthens bones and teeth, supports the nervous and muscular systems.
• Magnesium (Mg): Regulates heart function, reduces stress, and supports metabolism.
• Potassium (K): It is responsible for proper muscle function and electrolyte balance.
• Sodium (Na): Maintains proper hydration of the body.
• Hydrogen carbonates: Stabilize the pH of water, improving its taste and reducing acidity.

Controlled mineral release: Water flowing through the mineralizer absorbs minerals from the dolomite cartridge. This process is designed to maintain an optimal concentration level of minerals, similar to that in natural mineral waters.

Improvement of water parameters:

• Taste: After mineralization, water has a more natural and mild taste, which makes it ideal for both drinking and preparing food or drinks.
• Quality: Thanks to the presence of minerals, water supports the proper functioning of the body.

7 Bioceramic filter (ionizer)

How does the ionizer work?

Bioceramic technology: The ionizer in the RO7 system is based on natural bioceramic cartridges that emit long-range infrared radiation (FIR – Far Infrared Rays). This process activates water molecules, improving their structure and ability to dissolve and transport nutrients in the body.

Reduction of toxins and free radicals: Thanks to the negative ions generated by the ionizer, water becomes a natural antioxidant. Negative ions neutralize free radicals in the body, which supports regenerative processes, improves metabolism and slows down the aging process.

Water pH adjustment: The ionizer increases the alkalinity of the water, which helps to balance the acidity of the body. Regular consumption of alkaline water can support:

• Maintaining proper blood pH.
