HiKOKI UC18YFSL is a charger designed to charge all HiKOKI slide-in batteries with a voltage from 14.4 to 18V. The charger automatically recognizes the state of charge of the battery and charges it with optimal current. When a full battery charge is detected, the charger turns off. HiKOKI UC 18YFSL has cooling, which allows you to significantly speed up the charging process, protecting the battery from overheating (this affects the higher life of the battery cells). Approximate charging times at room temperature are: for a 1.3 Ah battery is 20 minutes, 2.0 Ah is 30 minutes, 3.0 Ah is 45 minutes, 4.0 Ah is 60 minutes, 5.0 Ah is 75 minutes.

The BSL1830C battery (18 V / 3.0 Ah) HiKOKI was made in lithium-ion technology. The battery is equipped with MPC (Multiplex Protection Circuit) system. This system prevents excessive load, excessive discharge and overcharging of the battery. Battery life is up to 1500 charge cycles. Lithium-ion battery has a higher energy density and weighs up to 60% less than conventional nickel-cadmium (NiCd) or nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) batteries at comparable power. In the case of a battery made in NiCd technology, irregular charging can result in a permanent loss of capacity of about 30%. There is no memory effect in the lithium-ion battery. The HiKOKI lithium-ion battery can be recharged at any time without risking damage to the cells. Charged to full battery "NiMH" loses after approx. 4 months of not using up to 50% of the stored energy supply. The fully charged lithium-ion battery is ready to work even after several months of non-use. An additional advantage of the 18V HiKOKI lithium-ion battery is its high performance throughout its life – unlike NiCd and NiMH batteries, where the decrease in performance is noticeable long before the battery is discharged.
