High strength

Pentax WG-8 is a camera designed to work in demanding conditions. Its robust, sealed housing provides water resistance up to 20 meters, resistance to dust, shock and frost up to -10°C. In addition, the camera can withstand drops from a height of up to 2,1 meters, and its design is resistant to pressure up to 100 kg. Thanks to this, it will work both during extreme expeditions, as well as in difficult working conditions on the construction site or in the factory.

LCD screen with AR coating

The WG-8 is equipped with a 3-inch LCD screen with high resolution (1 040 000 points) and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The AR (Anti-Reflection) coating effectively reduces glare, which ensures good image visibility even in intense light. Outdoor View Setting allows you to quickly adjust the brightness of the screen to ambient conditions – it can be increased in strong sunlight or reduced at night so as not to hurt your eyes.

GPS module and digital compass

The camera has a built-in GPS module that supports both GLONASS and traditional GPS satellites. This allows you to accurately save photo coordinates and track your travel route. Pentax WG-8 also allows you to apply GPS data from the digital compass and UTC time to photos, which can be useful both when traveling and when documenting fieldwork.

High resolution photos

Pentax WG-8 uses a 1/2,3'' backlit CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of 20 megapixels. The advanced image processor and high ISO sensitivity allow you to get photos of exceptional quality, even in low light. The camera provides low noise and a wide dynamic range, allowing for sharp and detailed images. Even when cropped or enlarged, the photos retain high quality.

Macro modes 1 cm and 10 cm

With its advanced macro capabilities, the Pentax WG-8 allows you to take close-ups with incredible precision. The standard Macro mode allows you to shoot from a distance of 10 cm, and the 1 cm Macro mode allows you to capture the smallest details, approaching the subject at just one centimeter. In addition, the Auto Macro function automatically adjusts the minimum focusing distance, eliminating the need to manually switch modes.

Digital microscope mode

The Digital Microscope feature allows you to instantly switch your camera to macro mode, allowing you to capture details that are invisible to the naked eye. Six Ring Light LEDs illuminate the subject, minimizing shadows and improving image quality. Thanks to this, it is possible to obtain sharp and clear photos even in difficult lighting conditions. When this mode is enabled, the image resolution is automatically set to 3M (4:3), which allows you to maintain high detail and excellent macro photography quality.

Recording movies in 4K

The WG-90 allows you to capture 4K video (3840 × 2160 pixels), allowing you to capture the smallest details with incredible clarity. The WG-8 features two stabilization modes: Movie SR and Movie SR+, which reduce vibration and ensure smooth recordings. This allows you to capture sharp and clear videos, even in dynamic conditions. The maximum recording length is 25 minutes or until the file size is 4 GB.

Webcam mode

Pentax WG-8 can act as a Full HD webcam (30 frames per second). Simply connect your camera to your computer using a cable and switch it to UVC (USB Video Class) mode. With built-in LED lighting and macro function, the user can capture detailed images, which will work well for both video conferencing and online broadcasting. The camera also allows you to use five times optical zoom, which allows for precise framing.

Robust for field work

The Pentax WG-8 is designed for users who work in harsh environments. The robust, damage-resistant housing makes the camera perfect for documenting construction work, technical inspections and use in industrial settings. Large buttons and knobs allow for easy operation even with gloves. The built-in Ring Light LEDs make it easy to shoot in dimly lit areas, and the macro modes are useful for capturing details such as cracks in concrete or markings on metal components.
