Satechi USB-C To HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter allows you to connect a compatible computer, tablet or phone to a monitor or TV with HDMI input. The adapter has a full-size HDMI 2.1 port and supports up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz on compatible devices.

For Macs, the maximum supported resolution is 4K at 60 Hz. 8K video transfer is not supported on macOS, iPadOS, or iOS.

Supported resolutions and refresh rates

The manufacturer shall list the following image modes available with appropriate compatibility between the source device and the display:

• 8K at 60 Hz,
• 4K at 120 Hz,
• 4K at 60 Hz,
• 2K at 240 Hz,
• 1080p at 500 Hz.

The available resolution and refresh rate depend on the capabilities of the connected device and monitor or TV. For Mac, there is a 4K limit at 60 Hz.

Dynamic HDR10+ and HDCP

In MacBook Neo, the adapter must be connected to the upper USB-C port. The maximum image resolution via HDMI in this case is 4K at 60 Hz.

Compatible with iPad and iPhone

The manufacturer’s list includes selected models of iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad and iPad mini with USB-C, including the iPad Air M4 from 2026.

The product card also confirms compatibility with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro and their Pro Max versions. iPadOS and iOS do not support 8K output through this adapter.

Compatibility with Windows computers

Connecting a monitor or TV

• Connect the adapter's USB-C connector to a compatible DP Alt Mode-enabled device.
• Connect the HDMI port of the adapter to the HDMI input of your monitor or TV using an HDMI cable.
• Select the appropriate HDMI input in the display settings.

HDMI cable not included. The manufacturer recommends HDMI 2.1 cable to use the full capabilities of the adapter, including 8K outputs. On some TVs, you may also need to enable 8K support in settings.

The adapter is backward compatible with HDMI 1.4 and later versions. It transmits the signal in one direction: from the USB-C device to the HDMI display.
