Nigella sowing (Nigella sativa L.) is a plant of the glaucoma family, originating from the present areas of Iraq and Turkey. It was known and used in ancient Egypt – its seeds were even found in the tomb of Tutankhamun.

Black cumin seed oil contains up to 70% unsaturated fatty acids (mainly linoleic acid). Linoleic acid (LA) helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect occurs when consuming 10 g of LA per day.
