LUMIX design philosophy: shaping emotions

The new all-black design of the LUMIX S5IIX is designed to encourage the developer to immerse themselves in capturing the object without paying attention to the tools they use. It is designed to harmonize with the environment in which photography takes place and prevent reflections on the aperture or recording medium, thus supporting artistic creativity.

Video data output in RAW format

The LUMIX S5IIX allows you to transfer RAW video data via HDMI to save it as ProRes RAW on ATOMOS NINJA V+, NINJA V and Shogun CONNECT HDR* monitors/recorders. Blackmagic RAW data can also be recorded on a 12G HDR Video Assist device**.

Record to an external USB-SSD

The LUMIX S5IIX allows you to record and play back using an external SSD via a USB connection. In addition, the ability to record content in ProRes 422 HQ format (up to 1,9 Gbps) and 10 bit 4:2:2 quality with compression directly on SSDs has contributed to improved portability and capacity, increasing the efficiency of backup and post-processing support.

Ability to start broadcasting anytime, anywhere

Choose your favorite streaming approach to share the latest events in real time! When used outdoors, wireless live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS) can be easily configured using the LUMIX Sync app. Wired live streaming (RTP/RTSP) with high stability is also available indoors.

Generally, it is possible to stream live to RTMP/RTMPS compliant platforms (compliance with all platforms is not guaranteed). In some cases, live streaming may not be possible as a result of changes to the service on the platform. More information can be found in the terms and conditions of the platform. ･Since the speed of live streaming depends on the internet connection, smartphone performance and other factors, it is worth conducting a transmission test in advance. Ready for the most ambitious photo shoots

The most important thing about autofocus is that it is reliable. The new phase hybrid AF provides speed and accuracy, helping you capture your target subject even in the most challenging scenes involving multiple people, as well as in environments with rear lighting or dimly lit.

The new Active I.S. system allows you to shoot and film while walking. The Active I.S. system determines the vibration status of the camera and optimizes correction factors, so it can compensate for even serious camera vibrations by about 200%* better than conventional systems.

Heat management allows for unlimited recording time

Unlimited recording time* in 10-bit 4:2:2 C4K/4K 60p/50p quality. With the compact housing of the LUMIX S5IIX, comparable to the S5, the new optimized heat dissipation structure allows recording for extended periods of time, even materials that put a heavy strain on the camera (e.g. high definition video over 4K or HFR video).

* The camera may stop recording when used at a temperature lower or higher than the recommended operating temperature (0 to 40 degrees).
