Test procedure

Step-by-step water hardness measurement:

1. Unpack the test
2. Using a syringe, place 5 ml of raw water in a menzurka
3. Add 1 drop of the measuring solution to the menzurka containing raw water. If the water in the menzurka turns green, the water is very soft
4. If the water turns red, add (and count) drops of the measuring solution (while gently mixing the contents of the menzurka) until the first shade of green is received. Green indicates the end of the test
5. The number of drops of solution added indicates the level of hardness in German degrees. E.g. 5 added drops means 5 degrees

Hardness scale of the test water

• 0-5 °dH - very soft water
• 5-10 °dH - soft water
• 10-15 °dH - medium hard water
• 15- 20 °dH - much hard water
• 20- 30 °dH - hard water
• >30 °dH - very hard water
