The BRITA Professional Purity C150 undersink set is a water treatment system designed for households struggling with hard and medium-hard water. At the heart of the kit is the Purity C150 Quell ST cartridge, which combines activated carbon filtration with decarbonization technology.
The system effectively prevents limescale build-up in kettles and home espresso machines. Filtered water is drawn through a separate tap installed directly on the kitchen counter or sink. The modern spout is equipped with an electronic LED indicator measuring the life of the cartridge and automatically reminding about the need for service.
How does the BRITA Purity C150 filter work?
Purity C150 purifies water on several levels:
- Pre-filtering: Stops larger mechanical contaminants such as sand, rust or sediments from the network.
- Reduction of carbonate hardness: Ion-exchange resin reduces calcium and magnesium ions, softening water and protecting installations from stone.
- Active carbon filtration: Removes chlorine negatively affecting the taste, smell and clarity of water.
- Final filtration: Blocks the smallest particles and carbon pollen up to 10 microns in size.

How often to replace the Brita C150 Quell ST cartridge?
The lifetime of the cartridge depends on the hardness of the water. With standard parameters (10°dH at bypass 30% to 40%), it ranges from about 2086 to 2408 litres. For hygienic reasons, the cartridge should be replaced after a maximum of 12 months of use. The need for service will be reminded by an electronic LED indicator built into the tap.
