Lesovik GROZA – a universal tourist tarp

The Groza UL Tarp is unrivaled in the full-size tarps category, as it weighs only 540 g, which is approximately 60% lighter than standard bivouac tarps. Groza creates a lightweight, durable and easy-to-use shelter in a hiking environment that provides adequate space for 2-3 people with backpacks. The gangway can be quickly hung in several ways, creating a shelter from the sun and rain, an ultralight tent, a screen, or even a sophisticated tipi. Thanks to its muted colors, the Groza tarp easily blends into the forest environment, so our overnight stay does not attract attention. The dimensions of GROZA 3 × 3 m provide enough space for camping, resting and overnight stay even for several people. Under the tarp you can shelter from the weather, repack your backpack, prepare a meal and get a good night's sleep. The area of ​​9 m2 means that we can easily fit a standard hammock under the tarp, which will thus protect it from nighttime rainfall.

Durable materials

GROZA is constructed using a silnylon material in a microripstop weave with a water resistance of up to 6000 mm H20 . According to the manufacturer, this standard exceeds modern market standards twice. The fabric is also windproof and resistant to mechanical damage . The mounting elements are laser-cut from Hypalon (rubber-nylon laminate) and are made with trekking poles in mind. Additionally, by lifting one side with trekking poles, we can create a spacious roof. Connecting several GROZA tarps allows you to create an outdoor pavilion for a dozen or so people.

To increase the durability of the guy rope attachments, they are made of laser-cut Hypalon – a rubber-nylon laminate used, m.in : for the production of military equipment and mountain pontoons. In the new version of the tarp, the polyamide tape sewn onto the back has been omitted, replacing it with a triple-folded seam. This not only reduced the weight of the tarp, but also improved its functionality, as this operation allowed the tarp to be stretched more easily and evenly.

The tarp is easy to assemble thanks to the integrated rope tensioning mechanism . The suspension system is simple and can be easily operated with one hand, without any knowledge of knots. Simply attach the rope to the ground and tighten it. The cable tension adjuster automatically locks the cable and prevents it from loosening. The ridge stays have mini hooks, allowing you to attach the tarp to trees without the need for knots. To set up the tarp, you need to use 4 pegs (not included).

Summer – Warm, mild conditions, no precipitation

In this case, it is worth hanging the tarp high to increase the distance from the hammock and ensure greater air circulation. Install the tarp guy lines wide so as not to create a barrier to the incoming air. The tarp will mainly protect against leaves, needles or pieces of bark falling from trees.

Autumn – Windy conditions, chance of precipitation

In such conditions, hang the tarp lower, closer to the hammock. Install the guy ropes wide enough to allow the wind to slide over the tarp and not exert excessive pressure on its sides.

Spring – No wind, possible snowfall

Hang the tarp at its normal height, but attach the guy ropes closer so that the sides of the tarp create a slightly steeper roof - this will result in less snow remaining on the tarp and will stretch it to a much lesser extent.

Mountain hiking / Sudden change in weather
