In 2016, a new wiring standard was developed - category 8. The ANSI/TIA-568-C.2-1 document specifies two cabling variants to support 25 Gbps (Class I - Cat.8.1, 2000MHz band) and 40 Gbps (Class II - Cat8.2, 2000MHz band). Category 8.1 uses RJ45 connectors and is compatible with categories 6/6A while category 8.2 uses other connectors and is not compatible with categories 6/6A.

The offered shielded RJ45 connector, category 8.1 (class I), meets the ANSI/TIA-568-C.2-1 standard, enables installation on a shielded twisted pair S/FTP, U/FTP, SF/UTP with a core thickness (stranded or wire) in range of AWG 22-24 and ensures compliance with the parameters of both Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet (class EA, category 6A) and 25 Gigabit Ethernet (class I, category 8.1). Color coding carried out according to the EIA/TIA 568AiB standard, i.e. both currently used.

The special design means that connecting the cable can be carried out tool-free or tool-like. Knife contacts are made according to the LSA / KRONE standard, so it is possible to press the veins using the tool of this standard. Tool-free connection of the cable consists in the proper arrangement of twisted pair wires in the pressure cap (colored icons indicate the correct location of the conductors for the 568A or 568B standard), trimming of protruding ends, placing the overlay on the contact strips and folding movable "wings" - pressing the conductors into the appropriate contacts will be realized after snapping the "wings".

The socket has hooks of the KEYSTONE standard so that it is possible to easily (through a latch) attach in KEYSTONE handles. Such handles are used in ICT equipment.
