PLANET MGS-6320-8HP2X is a brand new managed multigabit switch layer 3,providing data rates of 2,5 Gbps and 802.3bt PoE++ over UTP cables,designed for the demand of network devices with high required bandwidth,such as wireless AP Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, NAS, workstations and those with 2,5GBASE-T interfaces. Support for Layer 3 routing

The MGS-6320-8HP2X enables an administrator to conveniently increase network performance by manually configuring IPv4/IPv6 VLAN Layer 3 static routing, automatic RIP (Routing Information Protocol) or OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) settings.

RIP can use the number of hops as a routing metric and prevent routing loops by limiting the number of hops allowed in the path from source to destination.

OSPF is an internal dynamic routing protocol for a standalone system based on the state of the link. The protocol creates a link state database by exchanging link states between Layer 3 switches, and then uses the Shortest Path First algorithm to generate a route table based on that database.
