What is the unique nature of the harness? In their case, the pressure is evenly distributed over the entire body of the dog, so there are no problems with compressing the trachea.
Proper adjustment of the harness is an absolute basis for the comfort and safety of the dog. They should be fastened in a way that allows the straps to move with the pet's skin. The front girdle - corresponds to the circumference of the animal at the very base of the neck - it is measured starting from the nape and wrapping around the pet's neck at the level of the breastbone.

Rear girdle - corresponds to the circumference in the widest part of the chest - it is measured in a visible place of its bulging.
To be sure, it is also worth taking into account in the measurements:

Lower belt under the belly - it corresponds to the length measured from the widest part of the chest to the sternum.

Upper girdle - it corresponds to the dimension that starts at the base of the neck and ends in the dorsal part corresponding to the widest part of the chest.
When choosing a harness model, the width of the straps is also important. For large, strong dogs, 3-4 cm wide stripes will work well, while for small dogs, too wide stripes will be problematic when moving.
