The highest resolution presented by SIGMA

The SIGMA fp L is equipped with a Bayer sensor with about 61 effective megapixels, which is more than any other SIGMA camera before. In addition to images with fine details, fp L is able to create images with high resolution and rich colors.

Extreme Enlargement

The high pixel count means that images can withstand extreme zooming and cropping. This was one aspect of the ultra-high pixel camera that prompted SIGMA to provide an fp L zoom cropping feature that works in both STILL and CINE modes.

In addition to precise contrast-based AF, SIGMA fp L has fast phase-detection AF in the image area. This hybrid AF allows users to enjoy smooth, precise, fast and perfectly tracking moving autofocus both when taking photos and recording videos.

High resolution with maximum zoom

Thanks to the large number - ok. 61 effective megapixels fp L camera can record in Full HD quality even at a maximum of 5x zoom; because this is done simply by cropping without digital improvement, the image quality will not suffer. To use it in a more intuitive way, you can enlarge with your finger on the LCD touch screen.

Save and load your settings

SIGMA fp L has a function that allows you to save your own camera settings. Saved settings can be saved as image data in the form of a QR code, which can be immediately loaded during the session. Since anyone can instantly load the same settings by sharing a QR code, this will be useful for sharing camera settings during a session where multiple photographers work.

Large color mode selection

The color modes of the full-frame SIGMA fp L camera include not only standard modes for portraits and landscapes, but also distinctive modes that have been met with great acclaim in previous digital cameras with the FOVEON sensor, as well as modes that offer new artistic expression such as turquoise and orange, Powder Blue and DuoTone. 16 unique color modes give photographers even more freedom and a wider range of photographic and film expression.

Warm gold- This color mode creates a mild atmosphere with subdued tones and warm colors. It combines the ability of staging to create stories with the versatility that can be used in a wide range of scenes.

Turquoise and Orange - Color mode inspired by the color correction used in filmmaking. The idea is to create a high contrast between the orange colors that come in shades of human skin and the turquoise (cyan blue) that complements them, in order to achieve very vivid and deeply dramatic visual effects.

Powder Blue- This color mode features a bright, transparent appearance and a fresh blue color. The halftones are elevated compared to the standard.

Hybrid AF

In addition to precise contrast-based AF, SIGMA fp L has fast phase-detection AF in the image area. It provides high focus object tracking and is useful for focusing in situations where manual focus is difficult, e.g. when recording using a gimbal or recording in a single operation. It also features an AF function with face/eye priority, making portrait shooting extremely smooth.

Electronic shutter

Shocks, noise and delays are mechanical shutter defects. The full-frame mirrorless camera SIGMA fp L has been designed in such a way as to minimize these negative effects and create a system tailored to different photographic needs. Shooting requiring precision, in which even the slightest vibration is eliminated, shooting without emitting sounds, shooting with a quick response, so as not to lose the perfect shot. This type of photography will open up new horizons for video creation. In addition, the lack of a mechanical shutter makes the design of the SIGMA fp series simpler, which in turn positively affects its reliability.

Supports external recording

in 12-bit format

In addition to professional film cameras, the SIGMA fp series cameras are the first mirrorless digital cameras with interchangeable lenses that support external recording in 12-bit CinemaDNG format. With the ability to record in 4K UHD/24 fps resolution, they generate video data that can be used during filming. They also support All-I (All-Intra) recording, which allows you to maintain high image quality while reducing file size, allowing you to access the recording and editing of lighting data. You can choose the recording format that best suits the user's purpose.

The SIGMA fp series supports external recording in CinemaDNG format, as well as Blackmagic RAW and ProRes RAW output to an external screen recorder via HDMI. So you can choose the format of the RAW file according to the project.
