Clear images, without any shadows

Display a 80-inch image from just 73 cm*1 (2,40 feet) away directly from your desktop. With a short throw lens, you no longer have to worry if you're casting a shadow on the screen. The short throw design fits perfectly into small rooms, displaying a large 100-inch image without shadows from a distance of 93 cm * 2 (3,05 feet). With laser brightness up to 4 000 lm*3, dynamic contrast 3 000 000:1*4 and WUXGA*5 resolution, the TMZ400 series delivers crisp, sharp and vivid images with lights on or blinds exposed.

*1 For PT-TMZ400/TMW380. The PT-TMX380 displays a 80-inch image from a throw distance of 75 cm (2,46 feet).

*2 For PT-TMZ400/TMW380. The PT-TMX380 displays a 100-inch image from a throw distance of 103 cm (3,37 feet).

Easy to use for all

The TMZ400 series combines TV convenience with easy transportation. Its size is not much larger than a laptop and weighs only 4,9 kg (10,8 pounds). Light enough to take anywhere you need to. Easy to install on the ceiling. Setup is simple: just set up on your desktop, plug in the source, and start the presentation.

Immediate start of work

Start classes or meetings immediately without distracting delays that lose the group’s attention. Unlike tube projectors, which take a certain amount of time to run, the TMZ400 series displays content about one second* when power is turned on from standby mode thanks to the SOLID SHINE laser light source. It also has a Direct Off feature, so you can turn off the projector at any time with the room switch.

*When [ECO MANAGEMENT] > [QUICK STARTUP] is set to [ON]. [QUICK STARTUP] is unavailable after [AVAILABLE PERIOD] settings expire. When [QUICK STARTUP] is set to [ON], the projector continues to heat up, increasing power consumption. When [QUICK STARTUP] is set to [ON], the standby period during which [QUICK STARTUP] function is correct will be added as the projector runtime. [QUICK STARTUP] cannot be set when [STANDBY MODE] is set to [ECO]. It can vary depending on connection terminals, signals and other conditions.

Quiet operation keeps people focused

The TMZ400 series is equipped with a silent mode that reduces the operating volume to just 24 dB* – the same volume as the rustle of the leaves. The projector discreetly fits into the environment and minimizes distractions even when the group is sitting close to the projector. Quiet projection helps you focus your attention on your presentation, whether your class or colleagues are in the room or participating remotely.

* In QUIET mode (35 dB in NORMAL/ECO mode).

Digital Zoom Extender adds Digital Image Shift

Evolution of Digital Zoom Extender with the new Digital Image Shift feature. It provides a convenient workaround when you cannot install the projector in the center of the screen due to lighting fixtures or air conditioning vents on the ceiling or in cases where the ceiling is too high. You can digitally move the image 10% up or down and 10% left or right to fit on the screen with the projector remote.

The Digital Zoom Extender feature allows you to maintain the same mounting position as your previous projector, even if it is too far away from the screen, eliminating the need for construction work. Extends the casting distance beyond the optical zoom range, so that the image is displayed on the screen in the desired size. The TMZ400 series uses the same mounting bracket and mounting bracket as the conventional lamp-based PT-TW381R series, so if replaced, you can install a new projector without the need for construction work and use the Digital Zoom Extender function to match the image to the screen.

Note: The resolution decreases when using the Digital Zoom Extender and Image Shift. Some screen correction features are not available when using it, and the range of corner adjustments is limited. Using the same projector mounts may not be possible in every situation. Image size reduced to 80% when Digital Image Shift is enabled.

Screen adjustment with automatic vertical trapezoidal correction

The TMZ400 series offers simple screen adjustment with remote control. Includes automatic vertical keystone correction, which fixes keystone distortions when the projector is tilted up or down; 4-corner and horizontal/vertical keystone correction to correct the image when projecting at an angle; 6-point correction that removes distortions when projecting an image into the corner of a room; and Curved Screen Correction to remove barrel or pillow distortion when projecting onto curved surfaces.

Note: 6-point screen adjustment only available on PT-TMZ400.

Efficient reliability with minimal maintenance

Designed for a stress-free life

Excellent image quality is just one of the advantages of laser projection. Both the light source and the ECO filter do not need to be replaced for about 20 000 hours*. Comparable tube projectors would require one to four lamp replacements plus filter maintenance if they worked for the same amount of time. You also don’t have to worry about disposing of expired lamps, and the ECO filter can be washed and reused, reducing waste. It is impossible not to notice that laser projection reduces costs and maintenance problems. And thanks to the controlled brightness width of the light source and consistently uniform color reproduction, the images remain clear and vivid for a much longer time.

*About this time, the luminous flux will decrease to about 50 % of the original level ([PICTURE MODE]: [DYNAMIC], [DYNAMIC CONTRAST] set to [2], temperature 30 °C [86 °F], height 700 m [2,297 ft] at 0,15 mg/m3 particulate matter). The estimated time to light output drop to 50 % varies depending on the environment. The filter can be washed and reused up to two times (see the user manual for details). Filter cleaning cycle: 20 000 hours (in dust conditions 0,08 mg/m3), 10 000 hours (in dust conditions 0,15 mg/m3).

Eco-friendly design saves your work and the environment

Make the switch to Panasonic green projection and reduce your environmental impact in line with your organization’s sustainability goals. The TMZ400 series uses light 1,5 times*1 more efficiently than conventional lamp-based models, increasing brightness by about 20%*2 while reducing energy consumption by 20%*3. The maximum power consumption in NORMAL mode is only 240 W. Energy savings are particularly noticeable if you support more than one projector. You can further improve energy efficiency by setting the projector in ECO or QUIET mode.

*1 PT-TMZ400 compared to PT-TW381R.

*2 PT-TMZ400 (4 000 lm) compared to PT-TW381R (3 300 lm) when [PICTURE MODE] is set to [LIGHT POWER] [DYNAMIC] [NORMAL]. Measurement, measurement conditions and recording method comply with international standards ISO/IEC 21118:2020. The value is the average of all products shipped.

*3 PT-TMZ400 (maximum power consumption 240 V, alternating current 100 – 240 V) compared to PT-TW381R series (maximum power consumption 300 W, alternating current 100 – 240 V) in NORMAL mode.

Clear, sharp images and text in WUXGA*

WUXGA* LCD panels (1920 x 1200) improve text visibility and explain details for a more immersive presentation. With a higher panel resolution than Full HD (1920 x 1080) projectors, the PT-TMZ400 can reproduce images in their original proportions and reduce the need for scrolling when displaying websites and spreadsheets with additional image height.

* PT-TMZ400: WUXGA (1920 x 1200), PT-TMW380: WXGA (1280 x 800), PT-TMX380: XGA (1024 x 768).

Vivid image quality in heavily lit rooms

Projectors in the classroom and office must be strong enough to combat bright ambient light, otherwise the image looks dull and washed out. Despite its compact design and light weight of 4,9 kg (10,8 lbs), the TMZ400 series offers up to 4000 lm* of laser brightness, providing sharp, well-saturated images with room lights on and blinds exposed.

* PT-TMZ400: 4 000 lm, PT-TMW380/TMX380: 3 800 lm. Full on. /full shutdown when [PICTURE MODE] is set to [DYNAMIC] and [DYNAMIC CONTRAST] is set to [1]. Measurement, measurement conditions and notation method comply with international standards ISO/IEC 21118:2020. The value is the average of all products shipped.

Dynamic contrast adds depth and realism

Dynamic contrast analyzes the video signal frame by frame and digitally adjusts the luminous flux according to the contrast requirements of each scene. It features scene-joining technology for added realism, when dark and bright scenes often exchange. In addition to accurate reproduction of images containing a mix of dark and light shades, dynamic contrast is more energy efficient than other technologies. The high contrast ratio of 3 000 000:1* provides impressive detail in shadows and improves text readability for a more comfortable viewing experience.

* Full on/off when [PICTURE MODE] is set to [DYNAMIC] and [DYNAMIC CONTRAST] is set to [1].

Optimized images to fit your space

Daylight View Basic optimizes image quality depending on the amount of light in the room. The sensor measures ambient brightness and adjusts brightness, dynamic contrast and color for the purest results in all conditions.
